The hotel bar closes at 6 pm not convenient for us. The prices were outrageous. For 2 pina colada's & one had 1 extra shot of rum was $32.00. There is a nice pizzeria across st. called venezis which serves great food. Braekfast, lunch and dinner, good beer prices etc. BUT...after the 3rd day we realized they tack on 15% gratuity on each ck & there was only 3 of us plus we were tipping on top of that! The hotel was OK. You have to call housekeeping for wash cloths and hand towels because they are not given in the room. You have to get it from a floor supervisor & if he or she is their day off? you can forget about it. Everything down in that area is super $$$$$. We went to a gift shop called Halo's across street. I bought 2 printed on T-shirts & one bag with handles says Miami..$143.00.....The concierge at the hotel was very helpful & I suggest to use Uber other than a taxi. Would I stay again? For the price probably.

Had a great time at the W in Ft. Lauderdale. Great location for the beach and bar scene. Comfortable room and quite. The hotel staff knew what you wanted and we're happy to help.
Draw back was construction on the hotel. Loud outside and inside during business hours...

We arrived early but were accommodated and even upgraded. There are two buildings, joined and we were in beautiful new room in the unit on the beach. The walk in shower I loved! The windows were huge and overlooking the beach but darkened so, except at night, no one could see in. The resort fee co veered the beach chair, but umbrellas were extra. The pool was clean and well kept. Breakfast was reasonable at $15 for bacon and eggs. Still renovations going on in the lobby but no noise and we were at the pool and beach not in the lobby much.

I've been staying here regularly for 5 years because it was a nice hotel, conveniently located. They are in process of renovating parts of the hotel, but don't seem to have gotten to the room I stayed in most recently. It was pretty tired and damaged and not clean. Bathroom paint was bubbling and damaged. The room carpet was stained, sticky, and had clearly not been vacuumed because it was full of debris (tags, leaf parts, crumbs, peanuts) and this extended into the bathroom (hair, more peanuts). Gross. The sheets and towels seemed clean and the a/c worked.
