We went for a long weekend and it was great. The hotel is very nice and we had a great time. We didn't like that it was a bit distant from the south beach strip but if ur going to party i would suggest you to stay closer to the strip. Overall it was great experience.

The hotel staff were wonderful throughout our stay. There were a couple of things that could have been better, but it wasn't terrible by any means. They are in the process of renovation for the entire hotel, so that's always a good thing, but only AFTER it's complete. There was only 1 working elevator that sometimes caused a problem, but it wasn't that bad. The real problem is the fact that you are allowed to book a room that specified 2 'Queen' size beds in them. I don't know who this falls on, Expedia or the hotel. The beds were Full size. The front desk folks said they were a 'little bigger' than Full size...but they definitely weren't. The fact you book a certain size, for a certain reason should be enough explanation. There wasn't anything they could do, as the beds are what they are. We took it in stride. It was annoying however as my wife and I are both over 6' tall......but our 2 children were comfy and that's all that mattered. Food was good, but pricey. Same with the alcoholic beverages. But they were basically in line with everywhere else we've stayed in Ft. Lauderdale. The Westin had better drink deals however. The fact that you can't bring your own drinks is troubling. They had security guards hawking over every entrance/exit to the pool and beach. Even though I bought plenty of drinks at the bar....$7 is expensive for a beer. It would have been nice to have a $1.50 one from time to time.
