This started out as a Holiday Inn build decades ago. That means small room and small bathrooms. Slow elevators. We stayed for Mardi Gras. Staff was helpful and polite. Housekeeping was on the job and efficient.

The hotel was located in the heart of downtown Baton Rouge. The location is across the street from the River Center and USS Kidd. It is a walk from the State Capitol. The lobby is up to date and the staff were friendly. There is a casino and restaurant attached to the hotel. The rooms were dated but spacious. My room had a nice view of downtown Baton Rouge. The bathroom however was disappointing to say the least. It was so small that only one person could be in there at a time. It was very dated. Also, the area is a little noisy at night. Railroad tracks are next to the hotel and if a train is running at night it will wake you. The hotel rooms are in need of a major facelift.

Electricity was out at my home...found great deal with few hours notice. Front desk staff were very fast, friendly and accommodating. I was offered room on lower or higher floor...I choose higher floor with a view. The room was clean with adequate furnishings. It had fridge but no microwave. The bathroom was nice with garden tub. Overall enjoyed my stay, would highly recommend!
