The hotel could be modernised but then it would loose its charm. The rooms are small but so comfortable. The hotel is two blocks from Central Park and like 8 from time square. it was literally the best location for us. And there was subway station on every corner of the hotel so that was great (I'm lying, they might have been the street over)
The only bad side was that occasionally when shaking the towels off I'd find random chunks of black hair. Like some one had cute their hair and put it there. But that was just a seriously random thing that really didn't bother me.
I'll happily recommend this hotel to everyone.

The hotel is very nice and charming. The standard rooms are very small so plan to be cramped. Also, the bathrooms in the standard room is extra small. Other than the size, the hotel was a good choice. Space is definitely a commodity in New York City.

Weekend gate away with a friend. we stayed at the 17th floor with a gorgeous view of both the falls. It's an amazing experience to wake up and see clear blue sky, the falls, the trees bursting with different colours. It's like a touch of heaven.
I wish we could have stayed for another night. All in all we had a great time.

We chose the Roslyn as it was not too far to drive from JFK and we were exploring Long Island. It's a great little hotel. The room was clean and tidy and a good size. Unfortunately our room was on the ground floor at the back. The 'view' was of a solid soil embankment next to the road, but we were only there a couple of days so it wasn't that important. Our coffee machine didn't work, which we mentioned twice, and which was supposed to have been fixed twice, but wasn't. A minor niggle.

"Nice Hotel next to the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road"
This is a nice hotel on Long Island in Great Neck, NY. The staff is very good and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
The biggest gripe is that the room has an individual heating and air conditioning unit in the room. In the room we stayed in the A/C would only work on the higest setting even though it had controls to lower the setting, they did not work. What we did was turn the unit on when we left the room and turned the unit off when we returned. Leavingthe A/C on during the night resulted in a very frigid room upon awakening.
An amenity that is missing is that there is no business center that allows travelers to access the internet to check out local events or acces flight information or print out such useful things as boarding passes.
The hotel features a continental breakfast which we found to be below average for a hotel, We ate out for all meals even though the hotel has a restaurant. We did not eat at the restaurant based on comments from other travellers who said the restaurant was pricey and not all that good.

Service could have been better. They were busy as there were weddings taking place that weekend, but that meant other regular guests were sometimes not given the utmost attention to! Also did not get any silver Expedia VIP gift or complimentary something.
But enjoyed the room, it was super comfortable. And loved Montauk. Located close to town. Wish we could've stayed longer!
