My other half & I wanted to treat ourselves to a nice hotel in Seattle for the weekend and chose the Fairmont, based upon its reputation. From the time we arrived until the time we checked out, we were treated with the utmost professionalism & given the attention that royalty might receive. Valets are at your service, doormen very kind, and the rest of the staff is excellent as well. Not knowing it was our anniversary, reception upgraded us to a suite at no additional charge upon checking in - adding a nice touch to our experience.
After a night out, the lounge is a wonderful, intimate spot for a nightcap. Normally we don't "do" hotel lounges, but I'm happy we tried this one only to return the next night!
My only complaints: the smaller-than-expected pool (which was chock-full of screaming children for our adults-only anniversary trip) and the very high-priced in-room dining menu (20% gratuity charged, plus another line to add more tip + $4 delivery charge for room service...why not just increase the already exorbitant prices?). My hope is that the Fairmont adjusts their pool policy to exclude children from the pool & spa area after 6 or 7pm. It is impossible to relax in the hot tub or go for a swim with children splashing about & screaming. Other than those two minor things, it's lovely! Highly recommend the Fairmont Olympic!

We spent the past weekend at the Med as a family of four, mom, dad, teen, and a special needs young man. The hotel staff were so incredibly helpful for all of our requests to make this stay work for our highly challenged son. What was extra special was the inviting and cheerful way the staff treated everyone.

Getting old, could use some upgrades
Beware to preorder any long term parking, not like the last trip I took, hotel has given up its main parking and was fully booked. Has come a long way from when they would let you park for free if staying their. Have parking rates with room stay 7/14 days

We were there for an event and it is an easy walk to the Tacoma Dome. Tried twice to call room service for two more bath towels and the restaurant to order and no one every answered. The restaurant/bar was a zoo. They needed to gauge for the large crowd and appeared that they did not. The continental breakfast was really nice and the girls overseeing this did a really nice job and were very pleasant.

The Econolodge is a basic hotel with easy access to the freeway, restaurants and gas stations. The room was comfortable, had a table and chair, and was clean. Nothing extravagant. The room was a bit noisy and the hotel is not luxurious.
