I had a great experience here! The hotel was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. It was close enough to downtown Birmingham without it actually being in the city. There are plenty of reaturaunts close by. The best part of the experience was the front desk clerk, Colin. He is a superb employee! He was extremely friendly and helpful. Every time we entered the building, he greeted up with a smile. As we were settling into our room, he called to make sure we had ever thing we needed. Overall, it was a great experience!

We were traveling through the area with our 2 kids. Hotel was nice and clean and in a safe area. The staff was really friendly upon arrival. Breakfast in the morning is $10 a person, but kids under 12 are free. It is worth the $10. Much better quality than "free" breakfast places and the chef was super friendly and even came out to talk to the kids.

Everyone from the valets, check in people, and breakfast staff were AWESOME! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The other person traveling with me was very impressed, too. If every in the area again, I will stay here. By the way, LOVE the BREAKFAST (forgot the head lady's name, but she was GREAT!) Also, ask for Jeff at the front desk; he has GREAT stories!!

On an overnight business trip to Mobile and wanted to stay in a hotel that didn't look like every other hotel chain property. The Battle House entrance and lobby are magnificent. Worth a stop in just to see this reminder of a golden age in décor and the building arts.
The hotel has a phoenix-like history having been destroyed, rebuilt over the many decades of its history, and nearly abandoned for good not so many years ago. The Trellis Room is lovely and the service feels like Southern hospitality at its best.
The room I occupied was well maintained and the bath and shower were understatedly luxurious. The room itself was quaint but not exciting.
Did not have a chance to use the Spa Facilities but if they match the hotel's overall quality, that would make this a perfect place to unwind after a long day.
All in all, the hotel is worthy of a visit.
