My husband and I stayed six nights at the Benson Hotel at the end of April 2016. We could not have been more pleased with the location, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and the facilities. The hotel is located only 3 blocks from Powell's World of Books and 4-5 blocks from the Pearl District, home of lots of interesting shops and restaurants. Pioneer Square is an easy 4-5 blocks away. Peacock Thai Restaurant - where we ate twice in six days - is just around the corner. All in all, an extremely convenient location for walking around an extremely walkable city. The lobby area is old world elegant, with lots of wood and marble and rich upholstery. In any of our interactions with staff, we were impressed by their natural friendliness and desire for us to enjoy and appreciate their wonderful city. The hotel is connected via underground walkway to a public parking ramp - another terrific convenience. We fully enjoyed breakfast and a nightcap at the restaurant on the ground level.

The hotel is in the process of being renovated, but our room was excellent. We had a balcony, so we could see the ocean. The room was very clean and everything worked just perfect.
Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast was good and the coffee was always hot.
Would recommend to friends for their next stay at the beach.
