"Great hotel - just a couple odd occurances"
This is an excellent hotel. Very nice, newly remodeled rooms. The staff was incredible and very, very friendly. We asked for many extra pillows, and they never questioned it . . . they just brought them right up.
When we arrived at our room, however, the light bulb was burned out. The desk said they couldn't find any bulbs, so there was nothing they could do. We spent the first night in the dark. The next morning maintenance came up and changed the bulb.
The next day when we returned, we found that housekeeping had skipped our room. Towels still in the bathtub, cold coffee in the pot, beds untouched, etc. We called the desk and they said they would take care of it right away. We went to dinner and when we returned we found the towels taken care of, but the rest of the room still untouched . . . coffee pot still dirty, beds untouched, etc. We let the desk know again, but by then it was bedtime and we just cleaned the coffee pot and made the beds ourselves.
Finally, when we checked out, the manager caught us and apologized. To make up for the bulb and the housekeeping, she took the incidentals off our bill (we had charged two cans of Pepsi to the room, for a total of $2.50). Gee . . . thanks.
I hate to make too much of this because, as I mentioned, the staff was incredibly friendly throughout the whole visit. However, the follow-up with the bulb and the housekeeping were very strange.
