Stayed for a weekend trip and it was wonderful. Metro station is 2 blocks away, famous restaurants (e.g. Pizzeria Uno & Due, Eataly, ...) and shops around the corner, very walkable to sights.
Breakfast (e.g. Surf and Turf Egg Benedict) was perfectly cooked - one of the bests we ever had.
The rooms have a wonderful touch, more individual style than most other hotels. Staff was extremely friendly, but also joyful, making it a great experience all around.

We were in town for my husband to attend a conference. We were excited about the history of the hotel and the pictures were beautiful. Everyone was very helpful with the luggage etc. checking in. The hotel is in a fantastic area which we enjoyed tremendously. What we did not care for was bugs, hair and heavy dust on the window ledge. There was also hair on the side of the tub and something goes on the night stand. Once I cleaned that away we were fine. I did not mind that the room was not over the top elegant and showed a little age. That adds to the character of the hotel, but dirt is dirt. We also had peeling paint in a few places. On the good side, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was updated. We only slept there so the size of the room was not an issue. We would stay again in hopes this was not the usual way we would find the room.
