"Great old school Sanibel hotel w/ modern amenities"
The West Wind Inn was a wonderful place to revisit family memories with my mom after a 29 year absence. The only thing better would have been more time with my toes in the sand and a longer stay next time.

"Good quality for price paid. "
The resort was quite, clean and staff was friendly. We stayed one night for a quick weekend and were able to use the resort facilities prior to our room being ready and get late check out for the next day. The room was clean, simple and updated. The bathroom left a little to be desired, looked like it needed a new paint job and some freshening up but was perfectly functional. The fan in the bedroom was not operational which was highly disappointing in August in Florida. :/ The view from our room could not be beat! We loved all of the dining options available and all the free amenities like bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and beach chairs. That really makes the stay worth while. While on the beach we were able to collect some really cool shells and saw some live starfish and sand dollars out on the sand bar, very cool! We will definitely consider staying again and possibly bringing the kids next time.

"Relaxing weekend on Sanibel"
We have stayed on Sanibel Island before, but new to this motel...surprisingly better than the website pictures! Our room was exceptionally clean as were the grounds and pool area. Had a turtle pond out back, so there weren't any noisy neighbors. Was within walking distance to a small grocery store, Dairy queen and other assorted restaurants close by. We didn't bring kids, but there are family games on the property; teatherball, horse shoes, bean bag toss, and pool toys. Even though there were families there, it was still quiet at night... until it rained. The roof is not insulated so the rain is really loud on the roof...but, remember, you are in Florida! Not far to the public beach, but keep in mind, if you come back after dark, the island doesn't have street lights...drive carefully.

"A gem in Sanibel"
We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had an incredible view with a 2nd floor room facing the ocean. The bed was very comfortable and the room had everything we needed. It is an older resort but kept up very well and clean. No elevators only stairs to 2nd floor. Free breakfast was very good. Bikes, kayaks and beach lounge chairs with umbrellas were also free. The pool and Jacuzzi were clean. Hammock and bbq grill were also available for our use. Overall, I would recommend and would stay there again.

"Okay hotel for the price, right next to beach"
We were in the hotel side, not in the cottages. Booked last minute for two night stay. It is directly on the beach. Unfortunately the water is murky and brown, not the usual blue. Also there are a lot of seashells so walking on the sand is hard, bring water shoes. There are beach chairs (plastic and upright) that you can use which was nice. The balcony outside is nice to relax on and see the beach. There are also bike rentals right on the property and a restaurant right next door, but we did not visit. The bed was comfy but dipped in the middle a little. The floor is very loud but luckily we were on the top floor, i can only imagine what it sounded like below us. The bathroom was small but okay. The bathroom floors desperately needed to be redone, very dirty and broken up. The kitchenette is very nice to have. The pool is very small. Also, there is no maid service which i don't mind since it was only 2 nights.

"Very relaxing "
The hotel is very nice and the grounds are perfectly kept, a very relaxing atmosphere. We rented a one bedroom which had 2 queen beds making the room very cramped. The bathroom was a bit odd, with entries from 2 sides, but all in all a nice comfortable place. We will definitely return but will go with a 2 bedroom layout.

It was a good hotel. However, the dining was going through renovations. So we had to walk a mile to get to restaurants. But that was good exercise. The prices for food were great. We went to happy hours and did not spend much $. Great vacation!!

Sanibel is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Sanibel, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Sanibel hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
