We spent a few days in San Francisco for our anniversary. The hotel was lovely inside and out, and conveniently located near transit, lots of great shopping and plenty of restaurants. Great place to explore the city or recuperate after a fun evening.

We had a great time staying at the Clift Hotel in San Fran. Only annoying part was the additional facility charge of $25 per day to use 10mb internet, the gym and a '$10 breakfast voucher' - these costs should be covered by the already expensive per night rate.

Staff members were extremely kind. Allowed us to leave our bags prior to check in so we could go explore the city. Wine every night in the lobby from 5-6. On our last day our flight didn't leave till 955pm and they gave us a late check out at 2pm with no charge then allowed us once again to leave our bags so we didnt have to carry them around for our last 6 hours in the city. The room was comfortable and clean (a bit on the small side but most probably are in Union Square). I would definitely stay again.

Overall I had a good experience at this hotel. Great service/friendly staff, the room was super cute. My only complaint was that it could have been a little cleaner. It was dusty and the sink in my bathroom was clogged. They did have a notice that said they were conducting plumbing services that day. It's in a good/safe area, walkable to lots of shops and restaurants.

Flagship stores ring Union Square, among the vanguard of West Coast retail. Chinatown begins at Grant Avenue and Bush Street, while Gold Rush-era mansions crown Nob Hill. South of Union Square, the convention center area includes the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Cable cars turn around at Powell and Market streets to head back to Fisherman's Wharf.
