We had a family room with two queen sized beds. The room is spacious however there is very little if any storage space except for the clothes hanger. With four people we had to live out our suitcases as there was no chest of draws to put our clothes. This reduced the comfort of the room. Also there was nowhere in the bathroom to hang towels despite the hotel encouraging the reuse of towels. Also we ordered room service a couple of times bur there was no place to put food nor chairs no table to eat at. We had dinner on our beds.

This is my second time staying at the Clift. I love the location and the staff. The building seems more worn than I remembered. The staff was very professional. My bed and bedding were very comfortable and room was well kept and extremely clean. My biggest complaint is about the shower. The water temperature fluctuated unexpectedly while showering.

Its an old building but renovated and up to date. The rooms are small, not much of a view or cross ventilation but it did the job for just sleeping there. The other guests were very noisy, that is they seem to slam the doors and they walked very loudly down the hallways without consideration of the other guests.

Good location 1 block from Powell BART, but adjacent to seedy area. Room was fine, but wifi was terrible, which forced me to go down to lobby to get get reasonable wifi connection. "Breakfast" in brown paper bag was underwhelming.

This hotel was perfect for our San Francisco trip. It is extremely close to a ton of restaurants and shops so you can walk. It is also close to buses, trolley cars and the BigBus which I highly recommend (you can get 10% off if you book with the concierge which is what we did). All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful when we needed recommendations for restaurants. The room was a little smaller than a normal hotel room but it was bigger than I expected based on the other reviews. We will definitely stay here on next San Francisco trip!

Flagship stores ring Union Square, among the vanguard of West Coast retail. Chinatown begins at Grant Avenue and Bush Street, while Gold Rush-era mansions crown Nob Hill. South of Union Square, the convention center area includes the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Cable cars turn around at Powell and Market streets to head back to Fisherman's Wharf.
