Clean & comfortable for an old property; fantastic location for a great variety of restaurants. The concierge on duty when we checked in & the front desk agent who checked us out were great; welcoming, hospitable, friendly & professional. The agent who checked us in was cursory, abrupt, uninformative & unhelpful. Self parking was convenient, but getting to our room from the garage was awkward with luggage, the front desk agent should have suggested getting our luggage out while we were parked in front of the hotel. The room was clean & the beds were comfortable, but could use a couple more pillows. The bathroom was equipped with a wall mounted make up mirror which was a plus, but not nearly enough hooks & towel racks & there is plenty of room. The tv offered many channels, but was difficult to navigate &did not offer any options for streaming. Lots of good lighting in the room as well as plug ins for electronics. The age of the hotel was apparent in the windows that allow entry via the fire escape, the door to the adjoining room not blocking noise & lights, the thermostat that did not work. I was told the thermostat was old & to hold the buttons down. This resulted in the loud fan coming on & the temperature increasing & no way to turn it off, so we had to open the sketchy fire escape window to cool down. There was a very modern, hence incongruous to the decor, clock that had changing lights that couldn’t be turned off so I had to cover it. Will not return, unfortunately.
