Nice rooms with good views of the city over the overpass nearby. Pool was cold and outside without a heater which was unfortunate and the surrounding area was sketchy with a few homeless people. It’s also right near a fire dispatcher station and so the trucks leave there frequently and it is noisy. Overall though I would recommend, the rooms were nice and clean and comfortable, and it was a 5-10 minute walk into the downtown core.

Fantastic location in the middle of many of Dallas's most interesting tourist sites! Super clean room and bathroom, comfy big bed. My room had a beautiful view of "Old Red" - the Victorian era old court house (gorgeous!) which is now the Dallas Historical Museum. It is a wonderful museum which I highly recommend! The hotel is only 2 minutes walk away from Old Red, Dealy Plaza, the JFK memorial, the Sixth Floor Museum, City Hall, the Historic West End neighborhood (with great restaurants) and more. It is also about a 5-10 minute walk from Pioneer Plaza. I had a conference at the Sheraton and it was a 15 minute pleasant walk, although the DART (public transportation) is only a block or so from the hotel. All in all, a nice experience. The hotel is an older one, so the rooms are small. That is the only drawback, but it didn't bother me. I liked having a fridge in the room so I could store my leftover BBQ from Sonny Bryan's - a great Texas BBQ restaurant nearby...

We could not get the air conditioner to work and it was appro 11:30 p.m. i called the front desk, they said the maintance man was gone and we would have to switch rooms. We did not want to pack everything up again. I finally got the air conditioner to work, I had to reset the plug in button and it started right up. It’s a shame they couldn’t just come make sure it wasn’t something like that, we went several hours without air working.

Like everything in Texas, downtown Dallas is big. Fortunately, downtown’s zones make it easy to explore. The city’s art museum, symphony, and Dallas World Aquarium reside in the Arts District. West End’s Elm Street marks the spot where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. The Sixth Floor Museum chronicles this dark day. Deep Ellum, east of downtown, is Dallas’ main nightlife hub.
