We spent 2 nights in this hotel with 2 small children (3 and 1) for a long weekend visit to Ottawa. Hotel is close to all the buildings and museums. The service is great and the staff are super helpful. My children loved the kid's room and spent hours in there. The pool was good too, maybe a bit cold, but nothing to complain about.

Great service from friendly staff. Central location ideal. Pool and fitness centre great. Breakfast is solid and good quality with friendly restaurant staff. Outside noise can be intrusive depending where in the hotel you are. Great place to meet people.

Old inn with an interesting history and well-maintained antique decor. Squeaky floors and bedrooms right off the office and dining room may catch you by surprise if you are used to hotels, but in the end were not a problem. A few blocks from Rideau Centre and Byward Market and 15-20 min walk to Parliament and Sparks street makes it relatively convenient at a price more affordable than downtown hotels. The Inn is a few blocks down the street from the Ottawa Mission and you walk past it to the Rideau Centre but all was fine. Overall, the Inn was clean and has way more character than a hotel (you are more likely to remember the Inn), breakfast was great, staff was fine but not overly engaging, and is close enough for walking for touring or business meetings.

By far, our favourite hotel in our 4 weeks travelling around Canada. A shame we were only there one night! The room was in fantastic condition. The staff were fantastic - the breakfast for an extra $15 each was well worth it - a great spread!

I give these guys top marks as they make the prison experience a fun memorable one! My wife was complaining that she had to make her own bed, but as I said, it is a prison, and you are staying here for the historic and educational experience. Be sure to stay for the daily 11am tour. It is awesome! If you can not deal with the prison experience then do not stay here and certainly don't give the hostel a bad review.

Benner's B&B was close to Parliament Hill so accessing downtown on foot was easy. The breakfasts were well done, the room was very clean and the hosts were very friendly. We would recommend this B&B as a good place to stay close to the centre of Ottawa.

Ottawa government buildings dominate downtown Ottawa. Rideau Hall has hosted every Governor General since confederation in 1867. Parliament Hill features the Changing of the Guard ceremony each morning in summer. Rideau Canal, the world’s longest skating rink, is popular in winter. The World Exchange Plaza is a prominent office and retail complex that sits 20 stories tall and covers a city block.
