Good for a one night visit for a decent price. Poor view from our room. A very good location for the downtown, parliament, and the Byward Market. The rooms are pretty basic and they are showing there age but still okay.

This was my second stay at the Lord Elgin Hotel, which is celebrating its 75th birthday this year. My room was large and well furnished, with a very comfortable king-size bed. This year, I had an enjoyable meal in the restaurant, which was tasty with a straightforward grill-style menu and a decent Canadian and international wine list. I also used the business centre, which gives free internet access and printing. I recommend paying a little extra for a park-view room, as these rooms are lighter than the rooms at the rear of the hotel.

Nice hotel with spacious rooms. Our first room was updated in good repair and had a spectacular view. On day 2 we switches rooms to get the 2nd bathroom we requested at the time of booking. It had a terrible view amd wasn't updated and was certainly not up to the same standards as the other one but the hotel charged us the same rate for both rooms which I felt wasn't exactly fair.

Everything was great except the room was a little stuffy and when we ran the AC the air was blowing right on us near the bed. Getting a comfortable temperature was frustrating at times. Overall the hotel was great and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and refreshing for a long day outside.

Ottawa government buildings dominate downtown Ottawa. Rideau Hall has hosted every Governor General since confederation in 1867. Parliament Hill features the Changing of the Guard ceremony each morning in summer. Rideau Canal, the world’s longest skating rink, is popular in winter. The World Exchange Plaza is a prominent office and retail complex that sits 20 stories tall and covers a city block.
