Check-in was easy, everything was is good order. Bathroom could use a little more cleaning. But only for the soap scum factor. Staff was friendly enough in the morning, evening was not friendly. Evening acted like we were a bit of an inconvenience and was unprofessionall dressed.

Stayed here during a trip to Portland/Seattle & it was perfect for it. The staff was friendly & I thought it was pretty awesome that there was a Walmart right across the street! The only problem was that the lock on the bathroom door was broken but it didn't really bother us.

Gresham Days Inn was easy to find with spacious parking! Attractive lobby with helpful front desk people. Room was spacious, bed was very comfortable, shower was adequate but would have enjoyed a "hand held" shower head.
The Continental Breakfast was a major disappointment. There was few choices for a diabetic to eat. The "omelet" was still frozen in the center when it was available. Lots of carb filled foods but few healthy. The staff in the dining area couldn't understand english, let alone speak it! She had a few stock phrases but couldn't answer questions.

I stayed for 8 days for my vacation to experience Portland on my bicycle and had a wonderful time. I just needed a clean, comfortable, and quiet room to sleep, nap, and recharge so that I could get back on my bicycle every morning. I'd considered a much more expensive room downtown but this was only 20 minutes cycle ride from there and the ride to downtown was beautiful every morning, this place isn't far from Portland's newest most beautiful bridge, the Tilikum. I read other reviews talking about this being in a seedy neighborhood (there are two bars with exotic dancers east and west of here within a couple minutes walking distance) but I never saw or experienced anything that made me feel unsafe, and I'll tell you I'm a 50 year old cyclist who arrived via Amtrak so I didn't even have the ability to roll up my windows and lock my doors as I had none of those. I didn't use the pool but it always looked clean and well taken care of, and the other guests out there always seemed to be enjoying themselves.

We stayed one night, us in one room and friends in another across the courtyard. The rooms were clean and tidy. the decor has that Scandinavian minimalist feel which actually makes them very functional for their size. Both rooms had one or two little sugar ants which the staff were made aware of. Anyway, the place is not fancy but you can see the staff works hard. Our bed was made with sharp corners, the building has been recently painted, more. One thing I thought was sweet was the lady at the desk the next morning (who had been there, on call, all night, was able to bring her little one along with her to work. Nice employer! It's hard for new moms. On the flip side my one complaint is at check-in we got charged a few dollars more than our booking price for the "extra person" in the room. Made no sense: I booked 2 rooms, 4 adults via Expedia. Then the check in guy wanted my friend's date of birth to issue a second key card for her (original to her husband), although two were issued to my husband and I was not asked to do the same.
Long story short: I can see the effort, but a few things to work on.
