"Favorite hotel "
This was my second stay at the Heathman and I was delighted for the second time. Everything was great, the room, the staff and the location. The only bad thing was that the excellent restaurant was closed, but that is only temporary.

"Basic Motel but clean and well maintained."
Motel is older and very basic but it is very clean and well maintained. Great location $7 taxi ride downtown or you can walk over the bridge to downtown in about 15 minutes. Very safe and walkable neighbourhood. Easy to get on and off the I5 and other major highways. Very quiet in the evenings. Our room only had a shower but was comfortable. As with most Motels would suggest asking for a room on the second and third floor for a bit more window privacy. Great coffee & breakfast sandwich place one block weston Burnside - Grendahls. Very good value for a basic Motel. We enjoyed 3nights there.

"Very Accommodating of my U-Haul - GREAT Location!"
I stopped in Portland on my cross-country move to Seattle and Inn at the Convention Center was able to accommodate my 20' U-Haul truck while keeping me within a stone's throw of downtown! For free! The parking spot (which they say they use for all large vehicles) was well-lit, right in front of the 24-hour front desk and allowed me to back my truck up to a wall, so I could feel very confident that my belongings were secure. They even let me keep it parked for several hours after check out so that I could spend more time enjoying the city! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was on the older side, but well maintained and clean. My biggest complaint was some kind of air freshener they used which was a bit overpowering in the hallways (the room smelled fine) and had an "old lady" smell to it. The hotel is also so close to everything! We didn't go for a convention, but the hotel is practically on top of it if that's where you need to be. I had a car, which made traveling to downtown easier, but there were plenty of public transit options and Uber is always easy. Definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for a safe place to park a large vehicle for free near downtown Portland!

    Explore Portland

So hip it inspires parody, Portland has become synonymous with alternative cool. Fortunately, the left-of-center attitude, dedication to green spaces and off-the-charts-amazing food and beer that draw people here keep getting better. Do your part to keep it weird by eating maple bacon doughnuts one minute and cheering on naked bike riders the next.

But Portland is more than just an urban freak fest. Head to the Pearl District where young professionals sip happy-hour cocktails next to boutique art galleries, or stroll Forest Park and the city’s famous rose gardens. Just outside city limits is the Columbia Gorge, a magical, moss-covered fairyland of massive waterfalls, walking trails and vistas over the mighty Columbia River. Slightly farther, pyramid-shaped Mount Hood beckons skiers, hikers and anglers.

Yes, it rains a lot in winter, but with an abundance of second-run movie theaters, live music venues and Powell’s Books (the world’s largest independent book store), there’s plenty to do. Summers are glorious – you’ll see lots of tattoos when the hibernators emerge to enjoy the weather.
