Booked late with Expedia and did not expect to get into the Palliser! This is a wonderful, historic hotel in downtown Calgary that holds a lot of expectations due to it's significance. For the price I paid, I was thinking I'd get a tiny room off in a back corner. I was pleasantly surprised to have a large, high ceiling room with an incredibly comfortable bed, clean and well set-up with a walk in closet and fully stocked bar, coffee/tea and snacks. The bathroom had delightful products and was spacious. The only complaint would be that at night to go to the bathroom, a night light would help in order to not have to put on the overhead light. Staff at valet parking were wonderful and the car was always right there when I needed it brought up! The lobby bar is a great place to relax and staff made me a cheese platter without the meat listed on the menu. Concierge texted daily to see if there was anything they could do. Overall, a fantastic stay for an incredible price!

Overall it was good. Some pro’s are the hotel is connected to the downtown pedestrian bridge network so you don’t have to go outside to visit downtown shopping centers. They were doing renovations, so it was a bit of an inconvience sometimes. It is what it is though. Nice big room, a little old fashioned hence the reno’s. Parking is fairly expensive. 40$ to park outside and 32$ to park inside a day, though it is downtown.

My husband and I were in town for an event and decided to stay at the Kensington Riverside Inn. It was our anniversary and the additional rate wasn't a huge amount over other hotels in the area. We wanted something different and unique for our night and we got exactly what we wanted. Wonderful, polite staff that made you feel very welcome. Amazing food and hospitality in a cozy atmosphere. The room was beautiful and what topped off our stay was how amazing the bed was. The most comfortable bed I have slept in for a hotel no questions asked.

Calgary, with a population of 1.2 million residents, is Alberta’s largest and Canada’s fourth-largest metro area. The observation deck at the top of Calgary Tower provides an excellent view over downtown, including Stampede Park, site of the annual Calgary Stampede, and the Saddledome, where the Calgary Flames ice hockey team plays. The nearby Calgary Zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals.
