This is a wonderful hotel in a funky and fun neighborhood just across the river from downtown. Everything is well taken care of and the staff are very helpful. Personal service down to coffee and tea in front of your door in the mornings. They greeted me with a cold bottle of water (hot day) and took care of everything.

Don't be put off by the hotel's exterior or location. It is just a couple of safe walking blocks from all the action in downtown Calgary. You can get to and from the airport by the 300 Express bus that stops a block away, or by the light rail just a couple of blocks away more. (The train is free in the inner downtown area.) Don't forget to walk the great skywalk system for food and to really see the city's ambiance. The hotel rooms are really comfortable, the kitchen is nice and has all you need, and there is room to move around. I would have liked a second chair at the table so two could eat together, and the bathroom is small but adequate. Internet can be slow when everyone is on at once. There are good laundry facilities on the first floor. Overall, a good experience and we would return. Rates vary over time, and we were able to save $65 by re-booking closer to our arrival.

Rooms were clean but a little small. A continental breakfast would be nice as there aren't many cheaper breakfast restaurants in the area. Starbucks hours aren't open early or late enough. Otherwise a nice stay. Staff was great!

Calgary, with a population of 1.2 million residents, is Alberta’s largest and Canada’s fourth-largest metro area. The observation deck at the top of Calgary Tower provides an excellent view over downtown, including Stampede Park, site of the annual Calgary Stampede, and the Saddledome, where the Calgary Flames ice hockey team plays. The nearby Calgary Zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals.
