I've stayed at the Hotel Arts a number of times in a deluxe room and always been very satisfied. The beautiful lobby, spacious and tasteful rooms, perfect location and attentive staff all make it my number one choice in Calgary. However, my most recent visit was booked last minute and only standard rooms were available. While it was certainly clean and quiet, there was a considerable difference between it and the deluxe category both in terms of size and decor. It was like an entirely different hotel. The room had dark, drab decor only one bedside table. I also found it ironic that despite the hotel's name, my room did not have a single piece of artwork. That alone plus a lighter wallpaper would go a long way to improving the appeal. I'm ot sure I would stay here again unless I could stay in a deluxe category room.

Room service was delivered promptly at about 7:30pm, but the tray was still outside my door the next morning. Checkout had to be manually done at the front desk which is a little outdated but not terrible. The staff were pleasant and helpful, but the room was disappointing - it had some recent repairs to the ceiling which were visible and wallpaper was torn off the wall in one place.

"Close to where our daughter was getting married."
Lots of amenities close by as well as in the hotel itself. Appreciated and used both the Star Bucks and The Keg restaurants. Love the towels and soaps but was not a fan of the sliding door into the bathroom which doubled as a closet door.

Calgary, with a population of 1.2 million residents, is Alberta’s largest and Canada’s fourth-largest metro area. The observation deck at the top of Calgary Tower provides an excellent view over downtown, including Stampede Park, site of the annual Calgary Stampede, and the Saddledome, where the Calgary Flames ice hockey team plays. The nearby Calgary Zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals.
