Check in was easy and the staff was great. Lobby is stunning. When we arrived at the room we were checked in to (an older room which has not been renovated) I actually felt like I was staying in a 3 star hotel... After asking about the rooms it was explained that not all rooms had been renovated but they gave us an updated room at a discount rate and it was a great improvement and made our stay so much better. The old rooms may be nostalgic, but the new rooms are a vast improvement. New rooms are 4.5/5.

At check in I mentioned I was celebrating my sons birthday, just a mom and son getaway for the weekend. Staff member, Lily, took it upon herself to order a cake up to the room to surprise my son, offered free wifi, and a late check out. After all he was a teenager and she knew what all of his needs might be, food, internet access and sleeping in. When we arrived at our room, a few moments later a knock on the door and a beautiful piece of cake and side of berries, with a drink was delivered for my son. Was he ever surprised at the kind gesture. About an hour later Lily called our room to ask how my son liked his cake. The service was personal and it was special. I will never forget it!

I enjoyed thoroughly my stay - lovely facility and I liked that there was easy shopping and plenty of eating places nearby. The room was clean and comfortable and the desk staff were welcoming, I do think that they could make parking a little cheaper for guests staying. Otherwise, checking out was painless and smooth. I would stay again!

If you are travelling as a family, you may want to check with them the number of beds available. They said they guaranteed the room booked will sleep all guests but could not specify (at the time of booking) the number of beds. When we got there the only option they had was two double beds for a family of four. We had to pay extra for a cot so we would all sleep comfortably.

Great stay downtown Montreal. Lots of parking spaces, and you can easily walk to a lot of attraction points (10-15 min). If you're into shopping the Mall at second level has 110 stores and a pretty big food court.
