I only stayed there for one night. The beds are absolutely comfortable! I just wish they had more parking, and cheaper parking. I had already paid for my stay and on top I paid almost 40 dollars for my car to stay in the hotel's parking overnight. Overall, it's a nice place with very friendly staff members.

Our SUV was med/lrg and a tight squeeze. The Staff was friendly. The rooms were cozy with Plenty of pillows, and an excellent iron! I would absolutely stay here or recommend a friend :). Ps. There's a Starbucks coffee maker in the lobby with all the fixings.

Spent the weekend here for the cherry blossom festival which was about a 20 minute walk. They were able to accommodate my 11 pm check in, staying in touch via text. Someone was there to show me to my room.
The building is old with a small elevator but the rooms are new, clean, and modern inside which impressed me. Bathroom was spotless with a shower. There's also another sink in the room and a fridge and microwave.
I got a room on the third floor facing Van Ness so there was noise from the street. This is typical of many hotels in SF of this kind though they could have invested in better sound insulation on the windows. At least there were curtains that blocked light from the street.

Booked through Expedia, not knowing what we were really getting, but it was top notch. Only $13 cab ride to the wharf. Not a lot around the hotel area, except for a few nice restaurants and wouldn't recommend walking alone in the evening for a woman. Would definitely recommend it to others and come back again.

Awesome boutique hotel. Just a couple of blocks from Japantown, about a mile from The Painted Ladies and close to corner market and restaurants. Our room was very nice and comfortable. A little noisy but they will offer you a quieter room if you choose. Room was a little stuffy so we just opened the windows to bring in that nice California breeze. Overall a good experience and friendly staff.

My husband and I stayed at the Opal for Three nights while in San Francisco. The room was small with a king sized bed, but had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It had a safety deposit box at the front counter, which was nice, and the continental breakfast was good. The location was convenient for transit and about a 15min walk to Union Square. It was a fine area, but got a bit sketchy at night. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.
