I stayed in Columbus for the first few days of my vacation from work. I just wanted to get away for awhile. We looked for a location that was close to the Columbus Zoo and the Easton Town Center. Both were about 25 minutes away. But the hotel rate couldn't be beat. The room was very nice and welcoming. The bathroom was clean as well as the bed stuff. The staff was welcoming at the entrance of the door. We didn't get to eat the breakfast as neither of us woke up early enough. and we didn't use the pool because we were both too exhausted from the activities we had planned for the day. Over all the room was great. My only complaint was the firmness of the beds. I like firm beds, but this one was alittle too much.

Checked in around 1 a.m. after arriving at Columbus airport at 11:38 p.m. $44 cab ride from airport and cab driver took over 10 minutes to run credit card (no fault of La Quinta, just framing up my entire experience). Arrived at hotel, there was night staff to check us in, grateful for that, however, there were no services of any kind for food and any nearby restaurants were closed. Staff was friendly but really not too concerned about things, there were some vending snacks on a shelf but he didn't know how much. Room was clean but had never been "polished" after construction; stickers still on tub and wood like flooring was sticky and felt like it was pulling up with each step.

We recently stayed overnight with our grandchildren. Check-in was easy and efficient, staff was friendly and helpful. We requested a downstairs room due to having young children and we were accommodated. Room was very nice and clean, other than the carpet had not been vacuumed behind the sofa bed thoroughly. There was no bedbug cover on the sofa bed which was a little concerning, but after checking there were no bugs. The room needed a better spare blanket as the one in the closet was full of holes and what appeared to be cigarette burns even though we were in a non-smoking room. There were no linens supplied in the room for the sofa bed. The pool and hot tub were very nice and appeared cared for. Breakfast was your typical breakfast and adequate for our needs.

I had a pleasant experience overall. I did have difficulty sleeping, the beds were comfortable with the pillows were not. Lots of nice amenities like refrigerator and microwave in room. Breakfast was nice, wish there were more options. Staff was friendly and the room was clean.

Franklinton, sometimes known as the Bottoms, is the neighborhood immediately west of downtown. This part of Columbus gets its nickname because much of the land here is below the level of the city's Scioto and Olentangy rivers, and a floodwall is required to contain the rivers to protect the area against floods.
