"OK......But"
We had no problems at this hotel. Great location and easy access. If you are looking for cheap lodging and great beach access this is the place. Downside. Pictures are much better than actual facility. If you are used to higher end facilities you will be disappointed here. If you are budget conscious and just require basic amenities and a clean room this is great.

The Beachcomber Inn is a great place to stay. It's close to the beach and several good restaurants. The room was nice, staff courteous, and the pool was awesome. We will definitely be staying again.

We were only their for one night, wish we could've stayed longer. Great hotel near the Strand and within walking distance of numerous good restaurants. Very entertaining Jazz trio plays on Friday and Saturday nights. Great rooftop bar.

"My Stay"
Hotel was nice, staff friendly, room immaculate and very spacious. Love the layout of the room and the entire setup. Hotel does have a stale smoke scent and the breakfast is very disappointing. Already made waffles and off brand cereal. No oatmeal or grits no meat and no eggs. Hotel is too nice not to have better breakfast. Cleaning crew is too loud when cleaning rooms .... they slam doors & throw things around and will disturb your sleep. People with kids need to be in the first floor b/c if your in the second or first you will hear everything in top of you.

"Affordable hotel close to the seawall"
I had a really great stay on my short, 2 night vacation to Galveston. Days Inn was very reasonably priced, and while it's very close to the seawall, it's not directly on the seawall. It sits directly behind Best Western, and Best Western is on the seawall. The room looked updated, and was very clean. I loved that it had a microwave, refrigerator and a coffee maker. The AC worked great! The water pressure in the shower was great, which is a huge plus for a girl with long hair! There was a good selection of cable channels, the only thing was that every so often the TV would shut off, but it would come right back on. The internet is NOT great, I think because of where the building is situated. I had a room with a view, and it's not the best view, but you can see the ocean. The major down side though is the location. While it's very close to the seawall, it's extremely far down from where most of the restaurants are. It's also not near the good part of the beach. The part of the beach that's closest to Days Inn has large rocks with hardly any shore. You'll need to walk a ways to get to the good part of the beach where you can set up on the beach with your family. There's also no cross walk, and the seawall is an extremely busy street. I was by myself so I didn't mind, but I would be very nervous to cross with small children. And the closest cross walk is a good quarter of a mile. I loved the room, it was very clean, but the location isn't great.

Absolutely loved it. Charming, well kept, pristine, clean. The pillows were very flat so recommend bringing your own if you can - other than that it was a complete delight. Dave, the owner, is fabulous, helpful, and friendly, and the daily family-style breakfast was delicious.

Strand Historic District is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Strand Historic District, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Strand Historic District hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
