"Close to the beach and no too expensive."
The Wi-Fi wasn't fast enough to videostream but was able to download some shows overnight. The breakfast is cheesy. The room was clean and beds were ok. We have stayed here before and will probably stay here again as the price and location is great and the stay was acceptable overall.

"My Stay"
Hotel was nice, staff friendly, room immaculate and very spacious. Love the layout of the room and the entire setup. Hotel does have a stale smoke scent and the breakfast is very disappointing. Already made waffles and off brand cereal. No oatmeal or grits no meat and no eggs. Hotel is too nice not to have better breakfast. Cleaning crew is too loud when cleaning rooms .... they slam doors & throw things around and will disturb your sleep. People with kids need to be in the first floor b/c if your in the second or first you will hear everything in top of you.

Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand Hotel

"Beautiful Old Hotel"
The Galvez is absolutely beautiful. The employees were all very nice. Our room wasn't quite ready when we got there but they called as soon as it was so we could check in. I chose this hotel because my mom was in town and I wanted something nice for us for a couple days since she doesn't get to do this kind of thing very often. I chose a water view room, which of course was more expensive. There was a tiny window in the room by the head of the bed and another window that was about 2-3' wide. Yes, it was ocean view but not a typical "water view". When we first got into our room, there was a long black hair on the bathroom floor. My mom and I both have shoulder length red hair. The second day, after the maids came, we were back in our room and there was a sunflower seed on the ground. Neither of us eat sunflower seeds. There's a chair in the room and the side of the chair looked like it had something poured down the side of it but never cleaned up. For over $300 PER NIGHT I honestly would have expected much more attention to detail when it comes to cleaning. For that, I was very disappointed. I definitely wouldn't pay this amount to stay there again even though the place is truly beautiful.

Days Inn & Suites Galveston West/Seawall

"Affordable hotel close to the seawall"
I had a really great stay on my short, 2 night vacation to Galveston. Days Inn was very reasonably priced, and while it's very close to the seawall, it's not directly on the seawall. It sits directly behind Best Western, and Best Western is on the seawall. The room looked updated, and was very clean. I loved that it had a microwave, refrigerator and a coffee maker. The AC worked great! The water pressure in the shower was great, which is a huge plus for a girl with long hair! There was a good selection of cable channels, the only thing was that every so often the TV would shut off, but it would come right back on. The internet is NOT great, I think because of where the building is situated. I had a room with a view, and it's not the best view, but you can see the ocean. The major down side though is the location. While it's very close to the seawall, it's extremely far down from where most of the restaurants are. It's also not near the good part of the beach. The part of the beach that's closest to Days Inn has large rocks with hardly any shore. You'll need to walk a ways to get to the good part of the beach where you can set up on the beach with your family. There's also no cross walk, and the seawall is an extremely busy street. I was by myself so I didn't mind, but I would be very nervous to cross with small children. And the closest cross walk is a good quarter of a mile. I loved the room, it was very clean, but the location isn't great.

Lost Bayou Guesthouse B&B

"Great B and B close to The Strand "
This Bed and Breakfast is lovely. It is a house that survived the great 1900 storm. We walked from the hotel to the strand the first day. The house is also within walking distance to the Moody Mansion and the Bishops Palace. The owners of the B&B are very friendly and offer help when needed. For example, one day it looked like it might storm and they had a big umbrella for us to take with us. Breakfast is really good and served daily at 9. If you like history and a more homey feeling than a hotel this is your place! It is well kept up. If you want to go to the beach you will need to drive or ride a bike ( they had two bikes we could use).

Texas City is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Texas City, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Texas City hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
