"Great vacation spot"
A quick 3 day vacation, we wished we could have extended since the facility was so wonderful. The employees were so nice and considerate. The location is perfect... across from the beach with great views from the rooms. The steak house was really good too. I tad pricey, but service was impeccable.

"Close to the beach, nice pool."
Nothing within walking distance - must drive. All three seating options in living room were very uncomfortable. Also, bunk beds had paper thin mattresses. Older building - power outlets in bizarre places. Nice employees. They REALLY check for pool armbands. Easy check-in, check-out.

"Excellent location, very roomy."
Couldn't ask for better location. Walking distance to good restaurants, across street from the beach and right on the Seawall entertainment venues. Ok, the townhouses are old, but the layout is great. They are maintained well enough but you can't clean deteriorating substructure. If you want shiny & new this is NOT for you. There is a spacious living area, dining room kitchen 1/2 bath and private deck downstairs. Upstairs two master bedrooms with access to a single private balcony with great gulf views.

    Explore Galveston

Talk about a split personality. A well-heeled Victorian historic district offsets the sunburnt craziness of spring break at this beach getaway 50 miles southeast of Houston. Only a few of the gorgeous grand dames, such as Moody Mansion, are available for viewing year round, but the Historic Homes Tour opens more in May.

Both an island and a town, Galveston has seen its share of serious storms, most notably in 1900 and 2008. But it always fights back and reopens for business. Take time to eat and shop in the historic Strand District before stopping into Pier 21 Theater or the Texas Seaport Museum to see the 1877 tall ship Elissa.

Freely accessible beaches line the gulf side of the island, but organized Stewart Beach has family-friendly facilities, concessions and games. For even more fun, Pleasure Pier offers amusements and rides. And Moody Gardens’ three glass pyramids contain a rainforest, science exhibits, an aquarium and an IMAX theater. Not tired yet? Nearby Schlitterbahn waterpark can wear the little ones out.
