From the valet parking attendants to the staff. The service was amazing ! Only problem I had (very small) was the plug in in the restroom didn't work. Other than that it was perfect and comfertable. I will be back!

Only a one night stay but this hotel is really cool and has a lot of character. Rooftop was sweet with great views, if only there was a bar up there. Luckily there's a liquor store nearby so you can throw your own soi·rée in a pinch! It's also a quick walk to countless bars and restaurants. The location is superb to say the least.
A buddy and I got the queen bed suite which had a cool living area and a kitchenette. Even the sofa bed was pretty damn comfortable. Would definitely recommend for a short or long stay in San Diego.

This hotel had all the amenities one would expect. The memorabilia was very interesting too.
The room enough plugs that were easily accessible so if you have a ton of tech, no problem.
The front desk and bell staff were very good. However there was supposed to be a band playing in the bar and they were encouraging people to show up through text. When we arrived the band was late and the staff wasn't terribly helpful. This was just a small thing though. If you wish to be in the middle of everything in downtown San Diego it is a good place. It is very close to Petco and a fifteen minute brisk walk to the waterfront. You can almost throw a rock at the convention centre too. It is close to the Old Town Trolley as well as the light rail.

Hotel staff was very friendly and efficient. Room was clean, everything worked. They give you a physical metal key so you don't need to worry about your key card not working. Free breakfast and wifi and water bottles. Loved it, definitely will be returning on future trips. Great location with lots of food nearby.

Room was up to date, spacious, and very comfortable. Hotel staff was on point and very accommodating. Restaurant and Bar, was very nice and affordable... We will definitely be back as often as possible....

The Urban Boutique hotel is truly a great location and that is really the only reason I would recommend it.
It's an older building so the rooms are miniscule, the sink is outside the shower and toilet (also tiny). The mattresses are cheap motel hard and the pillows feel like they are stuffed with cotton balls. If dilapidated charm appeals, the 2 small outdoor cafe tables, patched walls, intermittent Wi-Fi and bathroom light, and ragged towels will suit your fancy.
When I got to my room, it was pitch black day and night bc of the huge construction tarps blocking the windows, not to mention the window AC unit that is super loud. It was like living in a closet. I complained, asked to be moved but they couldn't move me to a comparable room, noted the construction had been going on for 3 years and became defensive when I said the fact there was no natural light. I almost cancelled the rest of my stay but couldn't find another hotel room less than $300/night on such short notice.
Anyway, I would consider staying again ONLY bc of the location and it being a known entity. If you have high hopes for a chic, updated, comfortable hotel though, they will be horribly dashed.
