Harborview Inn & Suites San Diego Harbor

550 West Grape St, San Diego - Map
"Nice older hotel close to Downtown sites."
Greeted by a very personable Front Desk person. The price point was great for the quality of the hotel. The Hotel is an older facility but is well maintained. The room was extremely clean and the bed was of high quality. The TV was very new with a great selection of free stations. The hotel is in a great location, close to the Gas light District, Little Italy, the Beach, and the Airport. There is a 7-11 a block away which very convenient. A very pleasant stay with a very personable young staff.

Hotel Principado Tijuana Zona Aeropuerto

Blvd. Cuauhtemoc Norte 405, Tijuana - Map
"Close to airport, basic needs met, utilitarian"
A no frills, clean and pleasant enough hotel. Walls are VERY thin - you could hear everything from snoring neighbors to loud TV soccer matches to morning sex above our heads. Room we stayed in had no windows (except leading to the hallway) which felt a bit claustrophobic. LED lights were a bit dim. TV had lots of channels, English and Spanish, air conditioner worked well, shower door was a bit flimsy. Would have loved a tub and fridge but room did not have. Restaurant was adequate and not overpriced. Taco stands are plentiful in the neighborhood. We turned left and walked 2-3 blocks for some killer tacos (we ate at the red and white stand) Radish condiments were welcome! Hotel staff was fine. If you catch a cab from the airport, find the green and white van, where you pay between 20-30 pesos, as opposed to the tourist cabs that charge you around $20 bucks USD. You can negotiate some drivers down to about $7-8 USD + tip.

"Nice hotel with decent rates..."
Hotel could be a 3 star hotel with a few minor improvements and changes/upgrades in its amenities... Overall, a clean and nice room at a decent price but location is not for the inexperienced traveler.. Busy area with lots of locals and vendors and all the other "hustles". I had zero problems but I have prior visits to the area.

"Cozy and affordable!!"
Location is great. The staff was outstanding. The suites are basic but roomier than the standard room and it has a chain lock added, which comes in handy with a two year old. The room was overall clean, but the carpets need cleaning or replacing. Also deeper vacuuming. I would definitely stay again, the negatives don't outweigh the positives.

Best Western Americana Inn

815 W San Ysidro Boulevard, San Ysidro - Map
"Great value, quiet, close to the border"
Booked a room for 2 nights, 1 bed (2 people). Late check-in was no problem, room was clean (couch had minor staining, bed did not and towels were cleaned as well). No bugs or odors. A/C unit worked as expected. Shower was very nice "rainfall" type of unit, not high pressure but effective and good for taller people. Curtains were clean. Surprisingly nice firework (not sure why I thought it was worth mentioning, but there you are). Free breakfast consists of waffles, cold cereal (3 choices), oatmeal (with fixins), danishes and bagels, muffins, juice, coffee, and the most surprising (but maybe not because it's close to Tijuana), chilaquiles with fresh chopped jalapenos and onions/cilantro. Totally worth it. About 15-20 minutes away from GasLamp district, and 5 minutes from downtown Chula Vista. Grounds are nice, plants are maintained and janitorial/housekeeping crew are pleasant and smiling. 4/5, would recommend and return. Did not get a 5 because this is not a luxury hotel. Few accommodations, but well-maintained makes this a no frills, best bang for you buck type of place. If you need fancy (and double the price), go to the Marriott. Otherwise, this place should satisfy all but the most demanding of guests.

San Ysidro is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in San Ysidro, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your San Ysidro hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
