"Welcome to the Old Marriott!"
We booked an ocean view room, not realizing it would in another building and not actually located in the Hotel del Coronado building. Our room was located in an old Marriott building near the hotel. The room was spacious, but did have a lot of dust in the bathroom, which also didn't have a fan making it VERY hot after showering. The shower curtain also had mold on it. The beds were comfortable. The dining at the hotel is very expensive and we spent $25 on a burger at the Sun Deck, which came with frozen fries and very little flavor for the burger. The food is pretty disappointing. Count on $20 at least for each entrée, and alcohol drinks at $20 a piece. There were many events going on while we were there making it a great place for people watching. All the staff were very nice, in fact, everyone on Coronado was very nice.

Very comfortable room with excellent little kitchen and windows that actually opened to let in the fresh ocean air. I enjoyed my meals at the two restaurants on the premises. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There's no parking at the hotel. For an extra fee you can park at a garage nearby but I was always able to find parking within a block or two on residential streets. My room faced one of the open-air restaurants so it was a little noisy with the windows open but the restaurants aren't open very late so it wasn't a problem.

"Excellent alternative to pricey hotel Coronado"
Hotel DelCoronado which is directly across the street literally one minute walk. That is the Victorian landmark hotel that is $500 a night. I was attending a conference where I was going to be in meetings and lectures most of the day anyhow. This place is very nice and I paid about 300 a night. I gave it four stars instead of five Only because it is mainly condos that are timeshares so there is no daily maid service. They empty the garbage and change the towels twice a week. The rooms are comfortable but if you want daily maid service you're not going to get it. All rooms are spacious suites with furnished kitchenettes.and I paid about 300 a night. I gave it four stars instead of five space

"Wonderful place for four sisters to gather "
My husband reserved two rooms at the 1906 Lodge for me and my three sister-in-laws to gather to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was a perfect location and weekend. We wanted a weekend with time to read and visit, get some exercise, and enjoy good food. We wanted to spend our time walking rather than driving to distinctions. The airport was convenient for all us to fly into and arrive within the same hour. The 1906 is only about 15 minutes from the airport with quick taxi ride. Used the Inn's bikes one morning to ride around the whole island. The provided light beach chairs to carry, along with a beach bag with towels for our two block walk to the beautiful and long beach. We took long walks on the beach, short walks to enjoy the shops and resturants. The Inn's late afternoon snacks and drinks on the back porch allowed a time to regroup before dinner. The staff was very helpful.

"Great location, wonderful staff"
A charming hotel in a quiet neighborhood which allows dogs and is within close walking distance to shops and restaurants is not easy to find. Cherokee Lodge is one. Highly recommended.

"Coronado Island fun."
Attended a conference at Hotel del Coronado, but instead of spending $400-$500/night at HdC, spent $179/night at La Avenida and had plenty of money left over for fun stuff. Nice clean room, white shutters, quiet, and walking distance to many stores and beach.

it was a very nice big room with a great bed and good mattress (many US beds are far too soft, causing back-ache this one was just right), massive bathroom. it was very clean overall, just behind the sofa (necessary to reach power socket nearby) there were some old clothes etc but that's fairly nitty-gritty. Pleasant location, well kept.

Coronado is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Coronado, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Coronado hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
