"Nice, old-school luxury near air force base."
I liked my stay at The Del in late summer. Lovely old iconic main building, in a gorgeous setting, with some wonderful staff. The gastro experiences were A rated - the Sunday brunch is a must ($96 per adult is fair if you're prepared to let any dietary restrictions slack). The wait staff are truly exceptional and they made the week memorable for me and my 6 y/o daughter. The pool is small but it works - most people seemed to just want to lay in the sun so it was mostly kids in there with the odd parent bobbing around. It never felt crowded to me. When it was busy there were lots of interesting people to watch. The shops in the hotel are good - they take up a lot of space in the basement and feel like another layer to the hotel experience. The shops and dining options in the town are good. Leroys and Tent City were great for brunch. There's a laundromat around the corner from TC. The air force flybys (sometimes every 3 minutes, 300ft directly over the beach) was a big let-down. The noise is obnoxious at the beach and in the open aired restaurants, it's off putting. The resort has been added to over the years. We stayed in a more generic "resort room". The car-park view was a big disappointment - the receptionist there tried quite hard to upsell me to a partial ocean view. The room itself was ho-hum - old carpet, ugly ceiling patches, old fridge, regular cable, mediocre room-service food, off-set a smidge by great service.

"Too far from the parks etc but good for the beaxh"
The pools are nice but the kids club was only open when you pay for camps, not just a room to play for kids. Also, it is quite far to drive anywhere

"Excellent alternative to pricey hotel Coronado"
Hotel DelCoronado which is directly across the street literally one minute walk. That is the Victorian landmark hotel that is $500 a night. I was attending a conference where I was going to be in meetings and lectures most of the day anyhow. This place is very nice and I paid about 300 a night. I gave it four stars instead of five Only because it is mainly condos that are timeshares so there is no daily maid service. They empty the garbage and change the towels twice a week. The rooms are comfortable but if you want daily maid service you're not going to get it. All rooms are spacious suites with furnished kitchenettes.and I paid about 300 a night. I gave it four stars instead of five space

"Great location!"
No need to use the car. 1/2 block from the main street where you can catch the free shuttle. 2-3 blocks from the beach and they have chairs/towels available to use. The price is great and the breakfast coupons for Panera Bread were adequate. Nice garden and front porch.

"Quaint hotel with some deferred maintenance issues"
Upon check-in, our first room (#93) was very cool with a sizable bedroom area and king bed, a kitchen, and huge bathroom with separate tub & shower and ample counter space. Unfortunately, after one night, we realized that the A/C didn't work. Staff quickly agreed to move us to a different room for the rest of our stay, however, our new room (#14) was much smaller with a queen bed, no kitchen nor small refrigerator, and tiny bathroom with leaky tub and sink faucets and a toilet that was difficult to flush. Because of differences in room sizes and amenities, we asked if the price of the new room was less than the original room and were told "no" without any offer or compromise for our inconvenience. Quaint hotel in a great location, however, a disappointing stay!

We had a good experience overall. The hotel was clean and cottage like. We were able to walk to restaurants, shops and beach. The bike rentals are inexpensive and fun. It was really a great get-a-way weekend.

Coronado is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Coronado, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Coronado hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
