A bit of an issue checking in, as we were a bit early and were told at the front desk that we would be contacted when our room was ready. We went and grabbed a few cocktails down the street to pass the time, but never received a call that our room was ready. We walked back to the room and were able to check in. It took almost an hour for our bags to be brought up to our room. However once we were finally settled in and had our luggage, everything ran smooth. Great location, great room, great amenities, friendly staff. The rooftop pool is great for afternoon lounging and there are tons of great restaurants and bars within walking distance.

"Great location."
The Hard Rock is in a great location. We were able to walk to the harbor, Petco park and balboa park. The staff were friendly and helpful. Maryjane cafe was perfect for breakfast. The pool and spa area is large with comfortable seating. The room had a street view, which was interesting to sit on the balcony and watch the crowds after the Padres game. Simply closing the door was enough to have quiet space. The bed was comfortable.

"Great stay"
I usually stay here at the Red Roof Inn when I'm in San Diego for the weekend. For the price on the weekends plus how great the location is, it is a must. Each time I have stayed here I have been happy with the service, the cleanliness and the price for the room. They do charge for parking, but it's the cheapest comepared to most hotels in the area. Thanks again for another great stay!

"Can't be beat!"
Stayed 2 nights. Location is superb. Staff was super friendly, down to earth and very helpful. Beds were fantastic. Like being home. But now we need to duplicate the "naked experience" ;) Who woulda thunk?! Price was lower than others in the area. Parking was cheapest at "Park it on Market" 2 doors down. Especially if you don't go outside the Gaslamp Quarter. Only $15/day vs $38 with the hotel. Just a tip. Can't really complain about a single thing. One suggestion might be be free coffee for guests in the lobby in the morning. The KUERIGs in the room are handy, but a fresh cuppa would be nice on the way out for breakfast. Breakfast Republic is fantastic for breakfast, barleymash yummy for lunch and the GARAGE Kitchen great for dinner, drinks and live music. We'll definitely be back! So much more to see and do!

"Good Baseball Trip Hotel"
I chose the Omni as I was attending the Phillies-Padres series (August 14-17 2017). Hotel guests have exclusive access to Petco Park via a skybridge (a very short walk from lobby to bridge). There was never any line on the skybrige and you avoid crowds of people. The bed and pilows were comfortable. The bed was medium (not firm or lumpy). The mini-bar was lacking and I also had to ask for the minibar key at the lobby desk which seemed strange. The room lacks effective black out curtains. If you are sensitive to light getting in, this hotel may not be for you. I did pack a sleeping eyemask so I used that. There is an annoying red light on the television which also could be a sleeping disturbance. You also can hear the plumbing in the other rooms. Street trolleys run throughout the day and evening. The noise did not bother me but if you are a light sleeper and want peace and quiet, this hotel is not for you. I attended all three baseball games and after one game I heard a lot of noise and cursing out in the streets. As far as the amenities in the room (1408), the hairdryer did not work, the safe did not work, and the stopper in the bathroom sink was broken. The hotel is in a safe area. Lou and Mickey's across the street was very good. Mary Jane's at the Hard Rock Hotel was too. Avoid Broken Yolk Cafe and Oscars Mexican Seafood as I had a hair in my food at both places. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Coronado is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Coronado, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Coronado hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
