Very pleasant stay with you except, that it’s quite noisy and we can hear everything from the next room and from outside people are shouting or you can hear the sounds of the vehicles coming or passing by the hotel ....

We were looking for a hotel close to the airport to catch a morning flight. This hotel is very modern, upscale but reasonably priced. Staff were helpful and food was good. Beware of independent cabs that grossly overcharge for trips from the airport to the hotel.

We booked a last minute birthday getaway to Barcelona. We couldn’t have booked a better hotel. The position on La Rambla was perfect and convenient and Hotel 1898 was fantastic. Check in was easy and we were made very welcome. An added bonus was that we were upgraded to a Premium room which was lovely. We had drinks at the roof top bar, with beautiful views and enjoyed a breakfast in the restaurant the following morning. The food was delicious and the only struggle was to decide what to eat as the choice was huge. We had a brilliant stay at the hotel and have already recommended it to family and friends.

Two of the city’s largest parks, Parc de les Aigües and Parc del Guinardó, can be found in the hilly, semi-rural Horta-Guinardó district. You can see them both from the towers of La Sagrada Familia church, Barcelona’s most emblematic and fascinating building, created by Antoni Gaudí, (actually in the bordering suburb of Eixample). Neighbouring Gràcia is a good place for typical Barcelona eating, drinking and shopping.
