I'm a lover of swank boutique hotels and this was an incredible find. Amazing ambience, fabulous rooms and a staff that was at the ready to take care of us at every turn. Incredibly gracious team. They upgraded is to a room overlooking the top floor at la Pedrera. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was for the spectacular restaurant and garden but unfortunately we weren't able to get a table on either of our nights there. I loved the cool fingerprint technology that let's you open the room door in lieu of a key but it worked 20% of the time. I think it's a super cool idea so hope they can work out the kinks. Didn't have the breakfast bc it was too pricy but the hotel itself made up for that. Amazing. Gracias ALMA!

My wife and I visited Barcelona for the first time this July (2017) to celebrate her birthday. On previous City Breaks we've tended to utilise apartments rather than full hotels, pretty much as somewhere to sleep and shower - but as this was a special occasion we decided to upgrade a little and grant ourselves a little slice of luxury. H1898 absolutely fit the bill, with an immaculate and plush decor throughout, well presented, kind and knowledgeable staff, and amazing levels of comfort throughout. We used most, if not all, of the facilities including the Spa, the Sauna, the Rooftop pool, the restaurant, and we were not disappointed in any way. Would highly recommend for someone looking to explore the city from a central location - right here on La Rambalas, with plenty of tapas bars and entertainment within just a few paces! Amazing!

I am a 27 year old from New York/Boston. My husband and I traveled to Barcelona for our 3rd year anniversary. Upon arrival to Hotel Jazz we were greeted with vibrant young ladies who were so courteous and welcoming. We arrived earlier than check in time (which is 3pm) and we were able to leave our bags with the front desk and walk the city for a few hrs until it was time to check in. We were actually able to check in at 2pm! We were also given 2 free drink tickets to the rooftop bar located right next to the rooftop pool. An Amazing view of the city!! Beautifully decorated and clean!
This hotel is conveniently located to EVERYTHING. For example, there is a bakery/pastry shop located right next door where we had breakfast almost every morning (or you can have hotel breakfast which is reasonably priced at 12 euros per person). Hotel Jazz is also next door to a supermarket store where you can buy snacks, toiletries, and misc. items as well as next to a beauty supply store where I was able to buy shampoo and other hair products.
More importantly, it is within walking distance to Las Ramblas, Gothic quarter, and other attractions. Zara and H&M, and the Apple Store and other USA retail stores are all within walking distance.
The metro (train/bus) is also within walking distance- we took the train to FC Barcelona and to the airport!
Taxis were reasonably priced to Barceloneta Beach- 7-10 Euros only 10 minutes away.
Lastly, Hotel Jazz is right around the corner from Julia T
