I find it very difficult to find any fault with this hotel. It was perfect for our break to Barcelona. The building is very historic and interesting, the interior is beautifully designed and the rooms are sumptuous. The staff were really helpful and friendly, in particular the concierges were excellent. Oh and the roof top bar do a fantastic mojito!!

Spent a full week in Barcelona, including La Merce. Walked over 70 miles viewing the city and it's amazing sights.
Wife can't use underground , so does impact on public transport options. Pollution not good, worse on the Friday after most of roads had been closed to improve air quality. (Apparently something that is done every so often)
My fourth visit, wife's first.
Had some superb meals and enjoyed the atmosphere. Only one incident of concern when a man tried to snatch wife s hand bag as we crossed bridge from the port.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times.
Could hear people in next door room at times but did not keep me awake. I had a double bed in my room but it would have been difficult to find space for another suitcase, if the room was to be occupied by 2. Air conditioner worked well all the time.
It is not far from Plaza Catalunya by bus which stops right in front of the hotel. But there were days when it would have been nice to have a hotel closer in to be able to go back and have a midday nap. Barcelona in August can get hot.
I was told by the friend who recommended Hotel Travessera it was a no frills hotel so was surprised to find a mini bar. That was nice.

Formerly a separate town, much of Gràcia retains a village-like, bohemian atmosphere with interesting shops and bars and some of the best restaurants in the city. It is best known for Parc Güell, designed by Gaudí. This beautiful landscaped park overlooks the city and features many of his trademark flourishes. The square of Plaça Rius i Taulet is the heart of Gràcia. Plaça del Sol is the place to be seen after dark.
