The Cram is a funky hotel with curved walls all over the place and a vertigo inducing atrium that isn't for the faint hearted. It's well located, about a five minute walk from the Universitat metro stop and there are some really good nearby restaurants such as Vigo, Yamadori and La Mamounia. The staff were friendly and helpful during our stay and all spoke good English. We stayed in a standard double room which had a generous queen size bed and plenty of space to relax. Most of the walls were covered in mirrors which added to the sense of space. Our 6th floor window offered nice views over the inner courtyards of the rest of the city block. Aside from a faint rumble from the AC it was very quiet and we didn't hear other guests once during our stay and no street noise at all.
Really the only negative things I can think of are the lack of electrical sockets (only one socket in the bedroom and one in the bathroom) and the WIFI speed was rather poor and had a tendency to work in fits and starts despite having a full strength signal.

I had the single room and it was very roomy. I've seen photos of other single rooms that were like closets. My room felt very luxurious. The main difference between a single and larger rooms would be the windows and lighting. That's it.

Jusr spent 4 nights - great little hotel, pleasant staff, comfortable beds great for family of 4 kids loved the bunk beds. Tube 1 min walk you can get to Gran Via, Plaza Mayor and Sol easily and quickly. Breakfast was fantastic although we didn't originally book it but €11 if you prebook. Reception staff were polite and gave info - a great city break

The hotel is located in a prime location right on Madrid's main shopping street - Gran Via. Another reason we chose the hotel was the building - is one of the most important historical buildings on Gran Via. If you book a room, worth booking one with a view to Gran Via.
The room was clean and had a good size. We enjoyed the features of the room and all the amenities. The hotel however needs a little more maintenance. Even in our room there were places where the maintenance team could have done some work. Even thou were minor things, in a 4 star hotel there are unacceptable. But this did not spoil our experience overall.
The staff is friendly and if you require something they are happy to provide to you.
The hotel has a small reception area, but this is compensated by their glass lifts. I really enjoyed this feature. On the 7th floor you can also access the terrace - you have a great view over the city and you can enjoy a cocktail. :)

Can't reccomend this hotel enough. Just stayed here for our honeymoon for ten days. Champagne waiting in our room, and another bottled delivered for my birthday the following week. Food superb, cleanliness and whole stay was without fault.

The staff were very warm and welcoming. The grounds were beautiful and clean. The hotel is close to local amenities and restaurants. Walking distance to the Delt Vila and ports to Formentera. Also good transport links to the town and airport. Really nice place to stay.

It was perfect for what we needed. Close to town and the central party area but had a convenient parking lot across the street where we could park our car for our daily escapes. Not the most up to date amenities, but bargain price compared to other lodging so can't complain.
Extremely nice and helpful staff :) Typical guest is British and 18-24 years old so we were a little out of place, but again, it was a good deal!
