The Dunhill is one of only a few older buildings that Charlotte did not recklessly tear down. It's a 10 story gem nestled in the heart of Center City, among the grand oak trees of Tryon St. The tradition furniture, elegant wall coverings & drapery & marble bathrooms are a nice change from all the other modern properties.
Good wi fi, wonderful bath products, ample work space and a plug beside the bed. The restaurant & room service food is awful. My biggest complaint about this and all the Uptown hotels is the outrageous extra fee to park in their garage with no viable street parking near by. Years ago guests here were offered free parking but no more andCity rules make it torture even on weekends to use street parking.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Charlotte, within walking distance of fine restaurants, Epi Center, and Bank of America Stadium. I highly recommend using valet for parking to avoid paying $40 to park your own for less than 24 hours. I was told by the attendant, "that will be $20" only to view my online banking statement where she charged me $40. Valet!

Euro-style rooms and young, hip vibe. You worry when you see the hallways to the rooms (exposed plumbing, questionable finishes - but it is a loft theme), but the rooms are very well appointed. The hotel is very convenient, literally a few steps away from the main Charlotte nightlife and the business district. Two negatives, however. You have to pay for public parking - $23 for my overnight stay - and there is no road signage on E. Trade Street, resulting in a couple of driving loops before I stopped by the Ritz Carlton to ask where the hotel was - literally across the street.

stayed downtown for a birthday celebration.
the room is nice, but nothing extreme. we were at the 11th floor and the noise of the music coming from outside was "noticeable"...
as far as the rest, as usual i don't understand how after you spend 500$ per night something simple like internet (10$/night) and parking (38$ per night) are not included...

This property is in a good location in Uptown, easy to get out of Uptown traffic when coming and going. Close to light rail, Epicenter, Bobcats arena and the wonderful brand new First Ward Park. It's very far from BOFA Stadium and the Mint arts complex. It's a Holiday Inn, a solid 3 star motel. Rates run same as most of the nicer hotels in the area this would not ever be my first or 2nd choice. As all the Uptown properties there is an outrageous parking fee. Rooms are small and furnishings motel quality and design. Bathroom was shower/toilet with sink out side which was nice but the bath was very small and very damp and lit like a cheap motel. HVAC had that musty motel smell.
