I agree with all the good things reviewers have said about this hotel. Whether it meets the status of "Luxury" I'm not so sure. What I liked most was the low volume of guests and all adults the week we stayed. The cleanliness and housekeeping service were top notch and I liked turn down service because of the towel, water, and shampoo replacements in the evening. The ice bucket and chocolate was a very nice touch. The housekeeping services really deserve praise. All the staff were very professional and friendly. I have seen the complaints about the need for car valet service. I observed that it would become very congested around the entrance without it so I came to appreciated that service very much. And, I didn't mind at all tipping for the service as the team was very attentive, very quick and really deserved tips. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was mostly due to the price of cocktails. $17 for a cocktail was well above prices at the surrounding hotels and I think, discouraged guests from spending anytime in the evening around the pool and fire pits. The lack of activity in the evening made the place seem a little dull and boring. Not that I'm advocating party-town at night, but more reasonable drink prices would have encouraged more evening visits to the pool and hot tub that I think would have increased guest enjoyment in general. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Older building but fairly updated interior. No pool on grounds. Must walk across a street to an athletic facility to use pool. Nice shopping center across the street too. No snack bar or cocktail bar here either but we’d stay here again. Town is much smaller than we thought, but we like this slower, laid back feeling.

The hotel was fantastic, however during or stay the salt ponds were under construction so that was a bit of a bummer. The room we were in could have use a bit of updating but beyond that it was absolutely fabulous. The staff was wonderful- they really go above any beyond to make sure you enjoy your vacation.

Stayed in 9306 (building 9, 3rd floor, room 6), which had an excellent view of the property, and a very nice partial ocean view. Found the grounds to be well maintained, parking easy, and hotel staff very friendly and helpful.
Unit was extremely nice, with the only issue being a smelly fridge. Smelled like dead fish every time you opened it. The housekeeping crew cleaned and checked it twice, but the smell remained. It did not dampen our enjoyment of the unit though. Only way our stay could have been better would be if there was a nice sand beach in front of the property.
Overall, a great place.

We loved the feel of the Sheraton. We had a deluxe oceanfront room. Wonderful view! They are now renovating the guest rooms. Hopefully they will add some more dresser space and towel hooks. Other than that, the staff were super friendly and accomodating.

They overall did a good job however they shortchanged a bit : 1 piece of candy ...could have putout some juice or soft drink with a couple cookies or tea or ? In afternoon. Tv complicated and no directions and no one to ask. Lovely room and breakfast served 8-9 but by 7 they were banging around on a glass top table with coffee cups silverware etc. a small round pad or ?would negate the sound .Not the softest way to wake up.
But we would stay again and hope a few minor changes could improve the visit.

Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was clean when we arrived and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Having laundry facilities in the facility was very handy as well. We at once at the poolside café. Food was nothing to write home about but everyone was very friendly and was nice talking to other people that were there. I had a death in the family while I was there, and hotel refunded all my nights there even though they would not have had to. Only downside is that it is off the beach a ways, though you have a great view of the ocean from the property. I would definitely stay here again

On Kauai’s south side, Poipu is known for its gentle waters, which make snorkeling and swimming ideal; Mahaulepu Beach and Shipwreck Beach are among the favorites. Nearby, the Kauai Coffee Company, Hawaii’s largest coffee plantation, is open for tours. West of Poipu, sweeping vistas greet visitors at the Waimea Canyon, while the surf and lava collide at the Sprouting Horn.
