Waimea Plantation Cottages, a Coast Resort

"Quiet retreat on the beach"
This is not a valet parking, swim-up bar, seaweed-wrap spa kind of place. It is a charming idyllic getaway of converted plantation cottages amid a coconut grove. The cottages are freestanding. There are no rowdy neighbors on the other side of the wall. While not gleaming new, the cottages are well kept and clean, with comfortable beds and well equipped kitchens. There are hammocks and chairs along the beach, a small fenced pool, and a free laundry as well. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. The office contains a small gift shop where you can book activities. They also have a dispenser for free tropical fruit juice that I hit up on a daily basis. There is currently no restaurant on the property itself but this was not a major issue since Waimea is close by. My wife and I have been to Kauai twice, and stayed here both times. If we visited again, I am sure we would return to the cottages.

"Perfect Location"
Right on the beach. Close to airport, shops and restaurants. Personally I don't feel the need to spend 2-3x as much for a huge resort type hotel since most of my time was spent away from the hotel exploring the island. The room was comfortable with everything I needed. AC worked great. Turned AC on when I checked in and the room was an icebox when I returned at night. No problems finding parking. Friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely stay at this hotel again next time I travel to Kauai

"Beautiful view, loud waves"
This condo was very clean with updated counters and tile in bathroom. We were very comfortable there overall. The kitchen was nicely stocked with pans and dishes. The only other thing is there was not even any salt and pepper so if you plan on cooking bring your own spices. I loved sitting on the Lanai each morning drinking my coffee and watching for turtles. The waves crash on rocks so it is a bit noisy while sleeping but I figured it is a small price to pay for being so close to the ocean. There is no AC as of yet which is true of a lot of places on the island so the windows must stay open. If we ever come back to Kauai this would not prevent us from staying here again. It also was a convenient walk to Poipu beach which had some great snorkeling.

"Great experience "
This is our second time staying here and we chose to stay here again because we had such a great experience the first time. The front desk staff is always friendly and so are the room maids and staff. The pool is awesome and love being right on the ocean. We always eat at the restaurant and it's always good! Next time we come we will bring our family!

"Nice Hotel,"
Nice Hotel, convenient location with a nice large beach. Large unit and lots of room for the 5 of us, but no AC and a bit dated. The upper floor was some what unusable for part of the day as it was too hot to stay up there during the mid day. The staff brought us extra fans which was needed and helpful. Access to the pool was a across the street at the Poipu Recreation Centre, the pool was decent and they have about 6 nice tennis courts ( I'm a tennis player) as well as a basketball court and pickle-ball etc. Over all a nice old Hawaiian community and setting close to every thing on the south shore.

"The location is perfect"
We loved staying here because it was perfect for getting all over the island within a reasonable time. The staff was friendly and we loved the room we stayed in. There is no air conditioning so it was pretty hot during the day but we weren't really there during the day. Having a full kitchen was great and the lani was so wonderful to have. We would stay here again mainly because of the location and its beautiful sunrise view.

Hanapepe is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Hanapepe, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Hanapepe hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
