The staff was VERY hospitable and patient with the different questions we had. Room service arrived timely and the food was good. Everything was furnished very well and the view from our porch was great. Not to mention the hotel restaurants and facilities were easily accessible.

Awesome little hotel right off strip. Staff gave amazing restaurant recomendations. Wifi worked great! Mini fridge worked great! Continental breakfast had only cereal, not enough pastries to go around and warm juice. Coffee was good though. Only complaint would be the beds are hard. Hammocks outside the room were very comfy. Amazing restaurant called Romeos right across the street. 5 second walk. Celestino at front desk is the best!!

Fantastic hotel on the ocean with beautiful and well appointed rooms. Great roof top pool and deck. Has beach access right from the back and the resturant has some of the best food in Playa. Highly recommended!

I and another lady friend of mine booked this hotel because it is very close to the beach in Playa and the price was right. The room we were given, however, had no windows! We were staying for only 4 days, but even with that length of time, who wants to stay in a room with no light or natural ventilation?? We informed the staff and they gave us a room with a window (back view that was ugly, but not important to us) and we were very pleased. The room was very clean with very comfortable bedding. The sink was in the room with the shower and toilet in a small separate room. It worked fine for our needs. We found delightful toiletries and soft fluffy towels.
Playa is one BIG, busy, crowded town full of shops, restaurants, masses of tourists, loud music and noise as well as malls! It has changed a lot. When I discovered Playa in the 80's, it was charming and fun. I don't have plans to ever return. We did discover wonderful restaurants (ie. Madre Tierra) and great magaritas. The staff in all of the establishments are friendly and very patient. Lots of entertainment such as musicians and young dancers on the streets at night. The shop owners are very aggressive, however.

The location was incredible – it was close to everything. And the staff were friendly and attentive. They maids kept the room clean; however, the bathroom had an unfortunate smell during our entire stay. Also, the beds were not the most comfortable ones out there. So, if you are not picky, the place is perfect. We cared more about the location and friendly staff. As for the Wi-Fi try using the 3 variation. The first one barely gets any signal.

Still small enough to explore on foot, Playa del Carmen has a relaxed, yet cosmopolitan feel, with a variety of hotels, shops, and restaurants ranging from causal to upscale. European-style sunbathing is common on beaches. Playa is a popular jumping-off point for day trips to Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Tulum, and other peninsula attractions, and a passenger ferry makes frequent runs to Cozumel.
