My husband and I stayed at Live Aqua October 11 - 16, 2016. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The garden view from our balcony was beautiful. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. All of the restaurants on site had amazingly tasty food. We really enjoyed the all adult atmosphere. Top shelf alcohol was a plus! Things were more tame than what we had expected as far as all adult goes. This was a wonderful, peaceful vacation. We would recommend this resort to anyone!!!

I absolutely loved this hotel and staff is amazing! Very clean and comfortable. Amazing view on Caribian Sea. My only complain: I ordered couple times cocktail while hanging out at the swimming pool. Both times very watered down. $11 for cocktail not cheap but could not taste alcohol At all!

Nicest resort we have stayed at compared to the Riu Palace and Secrets. This is an absolute gem of a resort! Resort is very nice and well cared for. You will have plenty to do if you want to do anything at all.
The room was clean and fresh with twice daily housekeeping. They keep your room well stocked with water, liquor and snacks. As well as toiletries. You will not like the bathroom itself as there is no privacy. Only a frosted glass door.
The food is great! Don't let the other reviews lead you a stray. The food is wonderful here! You will not go hungry and the quality is superb. If you want steak and lobster every night, you can have it! Is it a Ruth Chris steak? No, it is not. It is still decent quality. The buffet has plenty of choices and there are at least 5 restaurants that you can choose from in the evening that are really, really good.
During our week long stay they held two different outside dinner parties that were spectacular. They go all out on the food, deserts and entertainment!
Entertainment was outstanding! From evening cocktail duos to full Mexican Mariachi bands, you will experience something different every night. I was really impressed with all the outside entertainment that they brought in. The nightly main shows were good as well.
The beach is fairly decent for the area. You will have some seaweed. They do work hard at keeping it off the beach, so that's a plus, but you just can't control what comes in from the ocean.

It was our first family trip to playa and it was just absolutely great! The only thing is that the beach is a little rocky, however u can still have a great time in the resort alone and the cenote that's inside the resort makes up for the beach.

With a family of 9 with all age groups this hotel was perfect. The location is superb being close to all the shopping or the ferry. The service was flawless and the food amazing. The cocktails were also on point.
The spa is also unbelievable, nicest one I've even been in. We stayed 3 nights and got hotel credits to spend on activities which we used for massages and swimming with dolphins! Everyone loved it.

We had a great time at this hotel. There were four of us and we enjoyed our stay for a week. We both had ocean front rooms. Personally, I thought the food was great at all of the sit down restaurants. We went to another all inclusive in the DR last year this week and enjoyed that also. I think this must be a slow week in the industry and we saw a lot of construction. We've decided all inclusive is the way to go. Some pros and cons -
Pro's - The beach is all beautiful white sand and the water is warm and clear. The food at all of the sit down restaurants was very good to excellent. The staff was very friendly (not great English). Lots of great unusual wildlife (Coatimundi, monkeys, something that looks like a giant guinea pig and more). I felt like that place was clean for the most part although we saw trash not picked up that sat there all week. We like quiet but one end of the beach had a ton going on for games, bands and more if you like that. Don't pay for snorkeling - about 200 yards down the beach there is a man made reef, that was fun. Our kids are grown but there a ton of fun things for the kids. The shows were good.
Cons - The rooms are small. It's hard to get around and there are no signs to show you the way. The place is huge and they have not enough carts to get you around (if I have a complaint that's it). The place is showing it's age although I think its only 11 years old.
Bottom line - we'd certainly go back and had a fantastic vacation
