I absolutely loved this hotel and staff is amazing! Very clean and comfortable. Amazing view on Caribian Sea. My only complain: I ordered couple times cocktail while hanging out at the swimming pool. Both times very watered down. $11 for cocktail not cheap but could not taste alcohol At all!

I was spoiled by the IG in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica so I knew it would be a safe choice for our honeymoon. This resort is by far more spectacular than the others. Just absolutely spotless and immaculate because they are cleaning constantly. Our room was spotless and little touches like petals on the bed or a bath drawn for when we returned in the evening. They even have dvds to borrow, you just pick one and call the butler. I even left the safe open and nothing was missing. The beach is a little rocky but just move 100 feet to the left and it's perfect. The beach wasn't very crowded and we found it was easy to get a cabana by the pool even if we took our time getting there. They have sunscreen for guests and towels are everywhere to easily grab. No towel cards like in other resorts.
Now for the food options...
Overall we found the food very bland. Like I said I was spoiled by IG Bavaro and expected the same quality. I've never had filet with no taste before. No salt, pepper or seasoning of any kind. Even the desserts were tasteless. There were some great dishes but not the quality we expected. Maybe because it's off season? The taco shop shared by other resorts was great. Room service was quick and not bad. He even brought a rose for my husband to give me (see...attention to detail). The Japanese was good. Typical hibachi experience. The French restaurant was not so good. Overall we would return in a heartbeat...

It was our first family trip to playa and it was just absolutely great! The only thing is that the beach is a little rocky, however u can still have a great time in the resort alone and the cenote that's inside the resort makes up for the beach.

Great food, excellent service, nice amenities, clean. What I didn't like was staff trying to get u to do some sort of time sharing. Very insistent!! Also, young tourists very loud!!!! Everything else wonderful!! Nice place!

We had a great time at this hotel. There were four of us and we enjoyed our stay for a week. We both had ocean front rooms. Personally, I thought the food was great at all of the sit down restaurants. We went to another all inclusive in the DR last year this week and enjoyed that also. I think this must be a slow week in the industry and we saw a lot of construction. We've decided all inclusive is the way to go. Some pros and cons -
Pro's - The beach is all beautiful white sand and the water is warm and clear. The food at all of the sit down restaurants was very good to excellent. The staff was very friendly (not great English). Lots of great unusual wildlife (Coatimundi, monkeys, something that looks like a giant guinea pig and more). I felt like that place was clean for the most part although we saw trash not picked up that sat there all week. We like quiet but one end of the beach had a ton going on for games, bands and more if you like that. Don't pay for snorkeling - about 200 yards down the beach there is a man made reef, that was fun. Our kids are grown but there a ton of fun things for the kids. The shows were good.
Cons - The rooms are small. It's hard to get around and there are no signs to show you the way. The place is huge and they have not enough carts to get you around (if I have a complaint that's it). The place is showing it's age although I think its only 11 years old.
Bottom line - we'd certainly go back and had a fantastic vacation
