Pretty typical, but decent, room for those looking to stay on a budget. A/C, TV, refrigerator and clothes iron were all in good working order, I can't speak to the other appliances. The room was clean, housekeeping was good during my stay. The location was quiet, at least while I was there, and the staff was friendly and helpful. On the downside, I had a king bed and the room was a little small for it. Overall it was a good experience and a lot cheaper than many of the surrounding hotels.

Did not mention on the site about renovations on going. Construction workers were racing with clients to use elevators even though the hotel guests were waiting first. Housekeeping staff had no courtesy for " guests first" in the elecator use . Does not even say excuse or sorry .

Loved everything about this hotel, it was our first time staying here and it definitely won't be the last. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. Not to far from 6th st and many other attractions. Clean room and comfy bed. And the happy hour was a plus!!! This will be my go to hotel next time I'm in Austin for sure

Hotel is in sketchy area. However, excellent lighting in parking lot. No one - worrisome or otherwise - hanging out on the property at any time. Main entrance is past the front desk, which increases the feeling of security. Rooms open on hallway, not to the outside. Hallways smell musty, but rooms (my room at least) smelled fresh and was fine. Hotel staff friendly. Room newish, clean and in good repair. Microwave, mini-fridge and extra sink appreciated. Everything worked. Bed not too comfortable. Wireless in room internet is free; not terrifically fast but OK. Note that many economy hotels in Austin seem to add an internet access surcharge. Hotel is on the west side of I35, making it a straight shot into central Austin (but a bit roundabout on the return). Breakfast was adequate. Hotel is more than good for it's level and fabulously better than many other nearby economy hotels (judging from the Expedia reviews).

North Central Austin is home to thriving Latino neighborhoods, Chinatown, and Highland Mall. Austin’s ethos of egalitarianism is evident here as college students, retirees, and blue-collar workers live side-by-side. FM 2222 leads to Mount Bonnell, which offers panoramic city views. Be sure to visit Threadgill’s on North Lamar, the beer joint where Janis Joplin groomed her voice and persona.
