"Love this hotel.."
I loved staying at this hotel. The room was extremely comfortable, the staff incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant served up delicious food. I loved that the staff were proud of the history of the hotel and did not miss a chance to share the background of its creation. They offer a car service to anywhere in the downtown core so staying a bit away isn't an inconvenience. I would happily stay there again.

"Quiet comfortable Hotel"
The only complaint that we had about the whole experience is that the lighting in the bedroom / bathroom area is not well. They could use one big over all light and it would work out much better. But other than that we enjoyed our stay. It also got cold the first night that we stayed, it would have been great to use the fireplace. But in order to do that you will need to get the wood from the front desk prior to that evening. That did not break it for us, just a little extra

"Great Hotel!! Excellent Service & Location!"
We travel to Austin quite often and always looking for new or boutique hotels. This South Congress Hotel was Excellent! The service is hands down 5-Stars!!! The room was super clean. We loved the oversize shower and added amenities. The location is walking distance to all our favorite S.Congress shopping, food, bars and nightclubs. We ended up at the Restaurant No Se (next to the hotel) - fantastic food. We love hanging out at the hotel bar for a night cap. The staff and drinks were great!

    Explore Austin

Cool, funky and fun: for a state capital, Austin is anything but staid. Famed as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” the city’s motto has long been “Keep Austin Weird.” Here you’ll find eclectic restaurants, clubbing districts, natural attractions and…oh yeah, a museum or two. Any night of the week you can hear live music at more than 100 local clubs. Sixth Street is known for a college crowd and hard-pounding bars, River Street hosts heavier metal and laid-back South Congress (SoCo) exudes a quirky, alternative vibe. The city fills with music industry folk and fans during March’s South by Southwest, the world’s largest music festival.

Everyone sleeps late, right? Nope – they’re up jogging or kayaking along Lady Bird Lake and swimming at Barton Springs – you can too. At sunset, a million bats provide a spectacle leaving their roost under the Congress Avenue Bridge. Museum lovers will appreciate the high-tech Bob Bullock State History Museum, the State Capitol and UT’s museums. Don’t miss the Hellcats at the roller derby.
