"4 Stars for a 5 Star Property"
This is a very comfortable hotel. Well run, clean and a BARGAIN rate. Why would such a great property be a bargain and Why would I only give it a 4 star rating? Because there is NOTHING around this property. It resides at the corner of two major Austin roadways (I-35 and TX Hwy 71) so access to everywhere Austin is available but the rest of the area is a business park. NOT what I guess the Omni folks were expecting when they placed their surveying stakes there years ago. There are no restaurants, watering holes or entertainment w/o a considerable drive--on those freeways. I have stayed here twice for business. Will return. The hotel is well run, friendly, clean--no problems. Just nowhere else to go.

"Very nice hotel close to all the action!"
My husband, dog and I stayed here for two nights during a cross country road trip. The hotel was beautiful and close to all the great spots on Rainey Street. Pros: PERFECT location, beautiful decor, very comfortable beds, nice shower, very dog friendly, very helpful staff (especially the Valet guys - we had to get into our car like 3 times a day and they were super sweet) Cons: Our room was next to the elevator and we could hear the elevator every time it dinged, the cafe in the hotel is outrageously expensive, and our room smelled like stale cigarettes. (When we alerted the front desk of the cigarette smell, they were very apologetic and offered to move us right away, but it was 4:00 am and we were toast after driving 15 hours and just wanted to sleep), $40/day to valet the car and internet is not free. Overall very happy and would definitely stay again, highly recommend!

    Explore Austin

Cool, funky and fun: for a state capital, Austin is anything but staid. Famed as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” the city’s motto has long been “Keep Austin Weird.” Here you’ll find eclectic restaurants, clubbing districts, natural attractions and…oh yeah, a museum or two. Any night of the week you can hear live music at more than 100 local clubs. Sixth Street is known for a college crowd and hard-pounding bars, River Street hosts heavier metal and laid-back South Congress (SoCo) exudes a quirky, alternative vibe. The city fills with music industry folk and fans during March’s South by Southwest, the world’s largest music festival.

Everyone sleeps late, right? Nope – they’re up jogging or kayaking along Lady Bird Lake and swimming at Barton Springs – you can too. At sunset, a million bats provide a spectacle leaving their roost under the Congress Avenue Bridge. Museum lovers will appreciate the high-tech Bob Bullock State History Museum, the State Capitol and UT’s museums. Don’t miss the Hellcats at the roller derby.
