"Very nice property, convenient, great value"
Stayed here for a business trip. Very pleasantly surprised, I heard lots of good things by my colleagues but really beyond expectations. The rate I paid is far below the average for this kind of properties, something tells me one day it will be so expensive I wont be able to stay there anymore. Very new property, staff very attentive and kind, especially bar and breakfast. Nice little touches, like the true Italian-made toeletries. Would definetely stay again.

"Hotel undergoing renovation but great value"
This hotel has the best hotel bed I have slept on in a long time! I was very impressed how this hotel staff is managing with challenging circumstances of hotel renovation going on. Our room seemed to be newly repainted and upgraded. A few touch-ups on the furniture would have improved the overall look, but I'm really not complaining. We were comfortable. We were not inconvenienced by the renovation, but be prepared that the hotel check-in desk is in a temporary location as well as the breakfast that is served each morning. We did not have to deal with any loud construction noises or anything like that

"Not really worth what I was charged..."
Upon arrival I was not greeted by the front desk girl. I seemed to be more of an inconvenience than a paying guest at the time. The room itself was nice except for the window unit air conditioner that took a long time to cool down the room. For as much as I paid for one night, I would expect central air at the least. The jacuzzi tub was nice after they fixed it for me, but once again, I would expect for any issues with the room to be dealt with before check in for what I was charged. The night staff and then the early morning staff were very nice and helpful. I don't believe I would stay here again unless the prices were lowered. They are charging luxury hotel prices for a not so luxurious hotel. I forgot to mention that the small pool are was not cleaned (beer bottles left around pool and overflowing trash cans) and the eyesore of scaffolding on the side of the building in the pool area.

"Family visit"
The rooms were comfortable. Nice size beds, great air conditioning and roomy. The breakfast was typical, ok, but typical. The staff was great. Aside from the musty smell in the hallways and stairways, the hotel was very comfortable.

"Beautiful Hotel, customer service sucked!"
Let me start by saying this hotel is gorgeous. The overall aesthetics, cleanliness, amenities were wonderful. With that said, the customer service was terrible. We constantly felt like the staff were looking down their noses at us. In fact, the only time we got good customer service was after we spent 30+ minutes trapped in their elevator. They had to call the fire department to come help fix the elevator so we could get out. The elevator actually never got fixed. They pried the doors open and we had to climb up onto the 11th floor as it was stuck between the 10th and 11th. This was the only time the staff acted as if we were "good enough" to stay at this lavish hotel. They made the restaurant cook us breakfast (this is where we were going when the elevator broke but we missed because we were stuck), paid for our breakfast, and put a $50.00 credit on our room. After that experience was over and forgotten about by the staff, it was right back to snooty attitudes. I can ignore this kind of thing usually so all in all, the stay wasn't bad at all. It just left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Finally, if you plan to eat dinner at Geraldine's, you might want to study up on your fancy ingredients. We ended up leaving as its a little too pretentious for my taste.

I think breakfast should be extended to 11 am. This would help with it being crowded and not everyone is a early riser.

    Explore Austin

Cool, funky and fun: for a state capital, Austin is anything but staid. Famed as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” the city’s motto has long been “Keep Austin Weird.” Here you’ll find eclectic restaurants, clubbing districts, natural attractions and…oh yeah, a museum or two. Any night of the week you can hear live music at more than 100 local clubs. Sixth Street is known for a college crowd and hard-pounding bars, River Street hosts heavier metal and laid-back South Congress (SoCo) exudes a quirky, alternative vibe. The city fills with music industry folk and fans during March’s South by Southwest, the world’s largest music festival.

Everyone sleeps late, right? Nope – they’re up jogging or kayaking along Lady Bird Lake and swimming at Barton Springs – you can too. At sunset, a million bats provide a spectacle leaving their roost under the Congress Avenue Bridge. Museum lovers will appreciate the high-tech Bob Bullock State History Museum, the State Capitol and UT’s museums. Don’t miss the Hellcats at the roller derby.
