We stayed 4 nights. The room size was generous and we made use of the communal hot spring (onsen) each day where one was available for males and one for females. The rooms were well serviced and staff extremely friendly, considerate and obliging. The day began with a gourmet breakfast, then we were off to explore Hakone. Upon return, the hotel provided a 5-star fine dinning French dinner with 5-courses that we enjoyed immensely. Breakfast and dinner were included. We stayed 4 nights to to recharge, but noticed most guests seem to stay 1-3 nights which is about right to explore the area. A hotel shuttle service provides nearby drop off points in Gora to bus stops and Gora attractions.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was terrible, and the room was dated, but overall not bad. I slept ok, my husband not so well. The restaurant prices were extremely high, but a short walk to nearby restaurants with much more reasonable pricing.

Location, amenities and service are world class! Since checking in the entire staff has gone over and above to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. There is not one thing I want to change about our stay.

This ryokan is a small and cozy place. There are two superb private onsen with natural hot-water coming out of the mountain. Location is very convenient in Gora. The staff is really friendly and was very helpful. There is no restaurant at the ryokan so food should be ordered, but the staff is really helpful in doing this for you. Excellent price-quality ratio and totally recommend the place.

Overall a reasonable hotel that clearly targets the 'eastern' rather than the 'western' traveler. Whilst we are pretty fit (for our ages - 65 and 70), less able visitors would be dependent on the hotel bus timetable as the very close cable car train station stop is a very steep incline to the hotel. Nevertheless, we stayed a very enjoyable 3 nights here.
