"Beautiful hotel with a mountain view to the east."
Laforet was an amazing experience. We booked "Western Japanese Private Onsen" room and it was totally worth it. Beds were a little firm but overall the experience was extremely relaxing. Public onsen was also very nice and no one else was there when we went so it was almost like a second private one!

"Hotel with hot spring near to agora station"
Very good. My only concern was the state of the private baths in the evening as they did not seem as clean as I would have liked. Otherwise, staff were excellent. I would recommend not going for half board as there are good restaurants in the neighbourhood. Dinner was good but expensive. At least check the difference between B&B and half board. This is a quiet hotel so if you want to party it is not for you. Having said that, it is a good place to relax and chill out. Good for couples although public baths are single sex.

"Wonderful ryokan"
We had a great time staying here in mid July. They have one public bath per gender (one huge bath to soak in and the traditional Japanese bath stalls to wash) in the building which is open all year round. There was also the yu no sato which is not open in the winter. The Yu no sato had 6 pools, 5 of which were outdoors. It was wonderful! As with all ryokans, you were given one yukata. You can rent a prettier one for 500 yen from the front desk. The food we had was Japanese buffet style. The dinner is nothing special. The breakfast was better. The location was great. If you take the local hotel bus, it costs 100 yen. Hotel Okada was the last stop (takes about a 5-10 min ride) in the route. This was great when it came to the check out date since it is easier to get a seat when you leave for the train station. You can also reach the hotel by local bus and it's only a short walk from the local bus. If you are staying for a day and want to take in all the Hakone sites, you should look into the Hakone free pass which includes the train ride from Tokyo to Hakone and various transportation modes in Hakone. We did all the major sites within the afternoon. Though, it was a bit rushed. The hotel will hold your baggage for you if you come earlier that day. All in all, it was a great visit to this hotel in Hakone!

"A true Ryokan experience"
Absolutely amazing experience from being greeted outside the door to the rooms with names. The staff is absolutely amazing and accommodating. Dinner was 9 courses of traditional fare and the staff was willing to add some miso in case our kids didnt like the offerings (which they did mostly). The rooms have true picture windows and in the morning we got a real treat with Mt Fuji in all its glory. The springs are gender split but in this ryokan they are indoor only. Suggest walking to the outdoor one in the adjacent prince hotel.

"Lovely place. love the private bath"
Their food menu are soso. But there will definitely be some highlight on one of a few dishes. Like their beef! Mostly are fresh vegetables! So if u like vegetables their food is the way to go. I wouldnt go here for food but more for their stay and ambience. Private bath in suite room was pretty!

"Extremely good experience "
This is my 3rd Hakone hotel stay and think it is the best so far. The hotel provides free transport pick up within minutes of call, so location is not a problem. Very friendly staff to welcome us with VIP check in service at the lobby and served with a cup of hot tea, followed by detailed explanation of the hotel layout and sending us to the room, making sure the room and amenities are ok and explaining the onsen temperature setting, all done by a friendly English speaking staff. The hotel served traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast which is unique and delicious. Above all, onsen is awesome!

Hakone is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Hakone, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Hakone hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
