"A great Ryokan experience"
My wife and I spent two nights in a suite with a traditional bath on the patio. An excellent stay. As with many ryokan, the food and the views are all important. The Manatee gets full marks on both. We enjoyed great service from our waitress. The bath was traditional hinoki cedar. A real treat. The staff was great about driving us about shot distances from the hotel. Thank you. What attracted us to this particular hotel was the presence of private baths, its location near a rail station, and its English Website.

Hakone Pax Yoshino

139-5 Yumotochaya, Hakone - Map
"Perfect Stay"
Hotel Pax Yoshino was the most expensive Hotel from our trip to Japan ( Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto) however it worth the money We stayed in a Japanese Style bedroom with Twin Beds - this gives you the nice decoration of a traditional room but with better sleep if you are not used to "futons". Our room was shower only (without Bathroom) but as this is the choice we had. I was expecting to be smaller because of that but the bathroom was very spacious and big. We also hired the private onsen which it could be slighltly disappointing if you check the pics and then you check with the real one - it is kind of a jacuzzi and in the picture looks bigger - however I would recommend the experience if you want to enjoy a hot bath with your wife - as the public one is by genders (male/women). The public onsen is lovely having one of them open bath so I could see the stars while enjoying a hot bath! Beds very comfortable and very clean.. Breakfast with big variety of Japanse cousine for breakfast and some western too As I said the experience worth every single penny we invested on it!

"Authentic Japanese atmosphere near Hakone Yumoto"
From the moment you enter the garden with the rooms that look like tea ceremony cottages you know you have made a good decision. Excellent service, fabulous food included in the half-board prices and very quiet surroundings. It was a perfect weekend getaway, close enough to Hakone Yumoto that made the trip from Tokyo a lot less stressful than usual. Highly recommended.

"Amazing view and location."
The hotel was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful but the best part was easily the view. We were on the top floor facing Lake Ashi and we had a perfect view of Mt Fuji in the morning and the beautiful lake and mountains the rest of the day. The hotel provided us a free shuttle back to Odawara.

Palace Hotel Hakone

"Quiet retreat "
The Palace Hotel Hakone offers good views of Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji on a clear day. It is accessible by bus, and close to Togendi where you can take the Lake Ashi cruise and the Ropeway, but a bit far from shops, restaurants and some attractions likethe Open Air Museum. Our room was luxurious and spacious with two comfortable queen beds, a sofa, a writing desk and chair, and a dining room table with four chairs. The wifi was fast. The bathroom came with amenities by Sheido. There was a problem with the bathtub drainage, resulting in some flooding. The hotel staff was very apologetic and responsive. They investigated and resolved the issue as quickly as possible. Overall, the staff was helpful. They took care of the luggage before check in time and brought the luggage to our room while we were out, provided info about the local attractions, and even printed a couple of e-tickets for me. I would stay here again.

Hakone is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Hakone, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Hakone hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
