The hotel was fine however did not care for the town to much. Since it is right over the boarder it would of been nice if the people could speak a little more english.

"Amazing customer service "
My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Real Azteca last night and had a very great experience. There was a mix up with our reservation when we got to the hotel but the staff helped us sort it out immediately. The owner came down to help and made sure everything worked out. Overall we had a great experience and the room was clean and super comfortable. We will absolutely stay again!!

"Walking distance to Mexico-Belize border"
This hotel is adjacent to Hotel Lagoon which is very confusing especially if you arrive by taxi at night when it is raining and people don't speak a word of English in either hotel. There are mosquitoes in the eating area and sometimes even in the room. Hotel is clean. Rooms have nice, clean beds. There was no water after 7:30AM in our room. We were told that there was some maintenance issue. They gave us a bucket of warm water to use instead. WIFI works only near the front desk, not in the rooms. We were served a breakfast of pan cakes and coffee. People are helpful for sure even though they do not understand English.

"Nice Hotel"
The hotel was a nice place but obvious wear and tear of the furniture and building could not go unseen! Some of the rooms had these old ac units that made a lot of noise and little ventilation! Service and breakfast good was awesome but the building needs upkeep!

"Convenient, modern and utilitarian"
This hotel is superbly located close to the harbor, and the areas that we wanted to wine and dine at. Safe parking is always an asset. The Hotel is quite modern and the rooms sparse but adequately furnished for our overnight needs. There is a central indoor pool which was unfortunately being maintained during our visit. We grabbed three rooms at a ridiculously low price and would recommend to others...

"Different and Difficult to Describe"
For the most part, I enjoyed my stay and found the staff and the hotel pleasing. But I find something not right about the hotel but difficult to describe. Maybe because it had a cold, sterile feeling. Reminded me of a clinic or hospital rather than a place offering warmth and hospitality. The young lady at check in was cordial and efficient . But the best personality and most helpful vote would go to the gentleman who showed me to my room. Very friendly and efficient. He only neglected to tell me I needed to put the key card in the holder by the door for the lights to operate. The rooms were very nice and well maintained other than a few chips on some of the furniture. Pleased to see a fridge. TV and reception excellent but stopped functioning just before check out. One night my key card would not open the front door so made the long trek back to the front desk where the clerk took care of the problem. But only handed the card back to me with no comment or apology. The hotel was quiet because very few guests. But can imagine a different scene if busy because the open atrium magnifies sound and would not be pleasing. Hotel staff was efficient but often very casually dressed and front desk staff lounging around lobby area appearing bored. Don't expect much English. Little spoken. No restaurant really but only a café serving an overpriced Continental breakfast. I passed. The place has potential but not living up to it. Not sure I would return.

"Nice hotel near to excellent birding opportunities"
This was my second stay at the Hotel Turquesa Maya in the last 6 months. The rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly, and the hotel facilities are generally in excellent condition. I can't comment on the breakfast as we left very early in the morning to go birding. A couple of things to consider: - Staff speaks Spanish only. - No secure parking offered. - I don't know if this means anything, but both times we have stayed at the hotel, we were the only guests.

Chetumal is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Chetumal, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Chetumal hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
