We had a 4 night stay here and was very happy with the location.
The staff were very efficient, they ordered taxis for us whenever we asked.
The spa facility was excellent, we spent every afternoon relaxing in it.
The only thing is (and it was really our fault for choosing to go in August when half the residents in Madrid go on holiday) the hotel restaurant wasn't open, so we had to go out, unfortunately there weren't many restaurants open (August) in the immediate area but the hotel staff recommended one some distance away and it was excellent.

Interesting walk to Gran Via etc. down busy street with many cafes, bars and small shops. Hotel is very modern but with interesting old features like the staircase. Open air bar area is also interesting. Very helpful staff.

"Excellent small five star hotel in quiet location"
Comfortable room, slightly old fashioned hotel but excellent service and breakfast, we tried the restaurant one night which was good but not outstanding. Quiet location slightly away from the sights and nightlife.

The hotel itself is nice, rooms well appointed and clean. Maria, who works on reception was wonderful and made sure our stay was a pleasant one, cannot thank her enough. Hotel is located on a very busy, noisy road but the sound proofing worked perfectly, sadly the air conditioning in the room didn't work but we never got around to reporting this. Only 4-6 metro stops into the centre of town or 7-10€ in a taxi.

We stayed at the Hesperia for 4 nights in September. It was a bit further away from the core area so we had to take a taxi to and from the hotel every day but it was worth the expense.
We were greeted upon check in very politely and hospitably, we got a room upgrade and the hotel room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel itself was quiet and very nice. We preferred being in a quieter hotel away from all the hustle especially after touring the city during the day. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The only downfall was the fitness room was being renovated while we were there but they offered us a pass to a nearby gym which was very good and pleasant.
If you don't mind being away from the major area in Madrid, I would recommend the Hesperia. We will definitely go back there the next time in Madrid.

One kilometer north of the city center, this quintessential Spanish neighborhood draws those who want stay in a tranquil atmosphere. Described as one of the prettiest barrios in Madrid, Chamberí's tree-lined streets lead to cafés, independent shops, art galleries, and parks. With easy access to metro stations and opportunities for golf, this community also includes the charming Sorolla Museum.
