This hotel was better than expected. The hotel is beautiful on the inside with a mixed feeling of comfort and upscale. Inside my hotel room, I was expecting a small room that could hold a King bed. But instead, I entered into a room that felt more like a suite with ample room to jump around and also relax.
The hotel is located right down the street from the Capitol building and the rest of the administrative buildings of D.C., which are not just a hot spot for lobbyists and politicians but also a great place to see beautiful architecture. It took me about 10 minutes to walk to the area. It's also only about 15-20 minute walk from the Verizon Center and Washington Conference Center.
The only downside was my experience with their desserts. As an Expedia member I got a free set of desserts from the restaurant downstairs. While these were delivered to me while I was gone with a wonderful hand-written note and a bottle of Fiji water, the desserts themselves weren't all that great. It seemed that the desserts were what they had left after the day, rather than something fresh they wanted to me indulge in. However, the experience was still wonderful.

Spacious room with separate dressing room, kitchenette, and dining space. Beds and linens were very comfortable. It's a little odd that the hotel is in two different adjacent buildings, but it works. The neighborhood is very nice, no hustle and bustle or loud street sounds.

This was my 3rd visit to this hotel. It is centrally located, clean, comfortable and a great place to start and end a day of exploring DC. Nice place for families with a full breakfast buffet. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was tasty but expensive. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next visit to Washington DC.

We had last minute reservations prior to an epic snowstorm to provide us access to work. Comfortable, clean rooms with nice window views. Located on North Capital St, a main DC road. Near the Capital and walking distance to restaurants. Staff was very helpful and maintained professionalism in the face of many frustrated clients who had cancelled travel plans due to the snow. Special thanks to DeWitt from parking who had to deal with cars that were stuck in the snow. He was always pleasant and delivered our car from valet to the hotel so we could get to work. The hotel made a difficult situtation the best it could be.

So close to Union Station and the Metro. Great breakfast / lunch spot two doors away and Starbucks down the street. Beds were very comfortable and staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Minor complaints: chair in the room wasn't comfortable (the lobby chairs were better -- one of those, please?), bathroom was a bit tight, pump dispensers in shower are useless (we stopped at CVS to get real shampoo), and our room was next to a supply closet so we heard the door opening and shutting at all hours. But those things were minor. We'll be back with our own shampoo and a request for a different room.

This hotel is walking distance to the US Capitol building and major free attractions such as the National Archives and National Mall. It's also a block away from Union Station. Inside the lobby is classy with a piano bar. The rooms are above average and the food is superior. Great Stay!

Lawmakers handle the nation’s business at the US Capitol, where Freedom peers across the land atop her perch on the rotunda. Many members of Congress live in the brick row houses near the Capitol complex. Across the street, the Supreme Court—the third branch of government—interprets the law. Nearby, the restored Union Station is a transit terminal and dining hotspot.
