I stayed at the Royal RIHGA for five nights. Check in/check out was easy. Staff spoke competent English, and were professional and nice. The hotel have shops and restaurants on the basement floor, as well as a buffet breakfast/dinner restaurant. There's a 24 hour Family Mart a block away, and a supermarket about three blocks away.
There's a shuttle that runs to JR Osaka Station every few minutes from the hotel. There is a waiting area with chairs at the lobby(if the chairs filled up there is a line to stand in). If I remembered correctly each shuttle seats 28. During peak hours there might be a wait, but if you missed one, the next one gets here fast. Coming to the hotel just make sure you wait at the right line at the station because multiple shuttle buses from different hotels all share the same area. The driver is also courteous and professional. There are room for your bigger suitcases. I walked a few times from the hotel to Osaka station, took about 30-40 minutes. A lot of restaurants including McDonalds and Osaka Ohsho(where I ate my first meal in Osaka) are nearby.
I stayed at a single room which is roomy enough for me. Mattress is firm, with two pillows. Walls are kinda thin, as you can hear when the neighbors open their faucet, or slamming their doors. Rooms use key cards. Complimentary newspaper in English at your door every morning. Vending and ice machine at each floor. Overall pretty comfortable stay. Definitely would stay at this hotel again.

I arrived early, and was sick so I inquired about early check-in. Cost would have been about $60. So, I rejected the offer and asked instead if there was somewhere I could change into my business clothes. They did not have anywhere for me to do this. Finally the lady who was helping me "found" a deal that allowed me to upgrade to a better room and check in early for just $30. So, I accepted. I cannot imagine how bad the other room would have been like since this upgrade room was pretty standard, really. Bed was TERRIBLE. So hard and uncomfortable. I asked if they have any padding to put on the mattress, but they did not.
Location was great, however. And, since the Hilton is so expensive, I would probably choose this hotel again over some of the other less expensive options in the area. But, I would be sure to get the better room - and maybe request a soft bed if that is at all possible.

I loved the hotel and location in Osaka. Great view of the river. People were easy to work with. Rooms were equipped with everything needed for a long or short vacation. I would definitely come back again.

This is a nice BUSINESS hotel. It's new and clean, but sooo SMALL. Since I stayed with my family, I wished our room could've had more room. But again, it was clean, and nice enough.
The breakfast was good enough. Not fancy, but good selections.
The location was much better than I had thought. It's very close to the Umeda downtown, starbucks, and othe coffee houses. There are at least two convenience stores nearby: Family Mart & Seven Eleven (two minute walk).
In sum, good business hotel but small

But the toilet smells, if they were to bleach the toilet bowl, I am sure the stench will go away. Each time the smell is there whenever I stepped into the toilet. Otherwise, hotel room is pretty good for me in terms of square area and comfortable bed. I asked for extra pillows and the manager brought them up himself. Very nice service. Yes, I will go back again, hopefully the smell will go away.

Located in the city’s north side, this is Osaka’s center for contemporary shopping. In addition to numerous shopping malls, this is the home of the Umeda Sky Building. Designed to reflect the image of the sky, the building’s two 173 meter towers are joined by exterior escalators and a rooftop floating garden. The Blue Note Osaka, one of the city’s premier jazz clubs, is also found in Umeda.
