Nice hotel and good location for museums. Bus from the airport and tram to old town within a few minutes walk. Modern hotel and possibly the most comfortable bedw we have slept in. Drinks and food a little pricey but overall would recommend.

"Nice hotel"
Great location, easy access to camels, trams and in a great area. The tram to central station is #1 or #5. The beds are incredibly amazing. I only have two criticisms, the lighting in the room was dark and the momo restaurant is far too expensive for breakfast. $50 euro for two people and it wasn't that great. We went across the street to the Aron pub.

"Superb, civilised service"
The main reason people may choose the Okura, is the extraordinary gourmet experience on offer in the hotel's Michelin Star restaurants; but the quality of service is what lingers in the mind - the staff are unfailingly pleasant and helpful, nothing is too much trouble (strict Japanese standards prevail) and it is impossible not to enjoy staying in this magnificent hotel. The location is perfect (five minutes by tram from the Concertgebouw and museums) and the canal walks in this quietly vibrant area are a tonic. Very highly recommended - and of course the Japanese cuisine is the best in Europe!

"Very nice hotel"
Did not have a gift shop - couldn't get water or snacks if you desired. Couldn't get my room warm due to presettings of the thermostat and the weather was low 50's and rainy.

"Very nice hotel with a perfect location!"
The location of the hotel is perfect when visiting Amsterday! You are close to many of Amsterdam's amazing museums, the Rijks Museum and the Van Gogh Museum. The Vondel Park is just a few steps away. The tram stop is just one block away, if you decide to use it. Otherwise, you can just walk to the "heart" of Amsterdam. The hotel is close to shopping areas and to the bloom garden shopping street. The hotel's staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast buffet is nice.

"weekend trip"
Hotel was in a great location, close to bars, restaurants and transport. Staff were polite and overall we had a great weekend as we Loved Amsterdam and the sun was out so warm spring days. It was spoilt by - having to ask for toiletries and tea/coffee to be topped up - housekeeping team could do with paying more attention when cleaning rooms - we choose this hotel as the pictures for triple rooms had 3 proper beds, as adults this was important to us. On arrival we had a arm chair bed which was ok if you did not want to turn over. This was replaced by a z bed which was slightly wider but shorter. When we spoke to reception they admitted this was not the first time this had been an issue. Neither of these were suitable for adults, it was lucky that one of us was petit enough to try and sleep on this. We would have booked 2 rooms but thought it would be more social for us all to be together.

"Great central location!"
We had a great stay at the Hotel Piet Hein. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was great that we could book some of our museum entries through the front desk as well as transportation to the tulip gardens. Breakfast was well worth it and had a decent spread every morning. The room was a little plain in comparison to the pictures on the site but it was very clean and comfortable. The location was probably the best part of the hotel. It was a quick walk to the tram station and transportation was very convenient. We bought a 72 hour tram pass for our stay and it was so worth it; you can buy it on the machine at the tram station near the hotel.

Oud-Zuid is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Oud-Zuid, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Oud-Zuid hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
