Location: Beautiful exterior and possibly the best location in Amsterdam, across the street from the main tram terminal i.e. all tram routes begin and end there. Also a large bus drop-off area right outside; very swift access for airport shuttle bus etc.. Minutes from the red light district, Madame Tussaud's, Canal tours. Very short tram rides if not walking distance to every major attraction (Zoo, the Bulldog, A'dam Dungeon's, Anne Frank).
Hotel: Extremely helpful bilingual staff. Upon check-in there's a steep surcharge that is taxed so upon checkout you will receive around 20% less back. The decor is rather dated and the room lackluster with a tiny weird step into the bathroom JUST big enough to stub your toe every time. Despite this, the room was extremely clean and well prepared. We were unfortunate enough to be next to an occupant who left their TV on all night very loud.
Book here if you'd prefer to explore the city from a prime location as your base, as the hotel room will not be the highlight of your visit, but will be extremely clean and a very safe choice albeit lackluster as far as 4 star hotels go.

The Hotel was away from the Center but well served by public transport. Convenient to Airport. Air conditioner was very cold or off despite reporting it several times. Rooms were large for the price but the hotel was sited in a shabby neigborhood.

Great room in a hotel with a very attractive design. The room was clean and the bed amazing. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Close to main transport which takes 10-15 to get you to Dam square.

The hotel was a nice stay and only a 10 min walk from tram stop, 17. once we had found the right way to walk there. The tram was about 35. Mins ride. the Heineken experience was well worth the money but the dungeon tour was rubbish, not worth the money.
