"Good Value and good location in St. Petersburg"
The hotel is in a good location about 5 blocks west of Tampa Bay and 4-5 blocks from the center of the Arts District. We liked the bar and restaurant at the hotel and their bar and food specials are both very good and a very good value. We had good service from the front desk staff and the same from the staff in the restaurant and the excellent coffee shop that had great desserts after meals or just with a coffee break anytime. The pool is good for wading, but not for laps. Most people in the pool area were working their I-phones. There was a good sitting room with TV near our 3rd floor room to read or talk in. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Great location. Walking distance to downtown, sundial, beach drive and the pier. The staff was extremely nice. Wish the breakfast selection was bigger but good enough for a cold breakfast.

"Young staff - very uneven service "
Hotel is very nice and very convenient. When we checked in and for the remainder of the day on 3-6 the front desk clerk could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. We were very disappointed in the morning when we were hardly greeted and the overall vibe was indifferent, bored and almost rude. There was young person (employee) sprawled on the ottoman in the lobby texting the entire time we had breakfast. A request for a glass of water seemed to be a hardship. Very disappointed at this price point an in the spirit of vacation that this would be the level of service.

"Good Value Downtown Hotel"
Because of a motor racing event and tons of construction in downtown St. Petersburg, we had difficulties getting to and parking at this hotel. But otherwise it was fine, the Tapas Restaurant in the hotel was good and the room was small but efficient.

"Quaint, cozy, accomodating and great location! "
I really enjoyed my stay at the Mansion Inn. If you're just looking for a quick getaway for a night or two, this is an outstanding place. It's in walking distance of everything you might possibly want; bars, restaurants, museum, water, parks, etc. And the hotel manager (Sabrina) is so sweet and accomodating. The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and (most importantly to me) comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and feel confident that they would share my enthusiasm and be grateful for the recommendation. We will definitely return in the future for hotel accommodations.

"Relatively Quiet Corner of St. Pete."
Whenever I have business in St. Petersburg I have to deal with the problem of finding a good quality hotel. Unfortunately, the downtown Hilton and Hampton Inns are usually fully booked. This time I tried the Courtyard by Marriott. The hotel is nestled in the northwest corner of downtown St. Petersburg, just outside the downtown entertainment area. The hotel is well placed for access to the developing neighborhood of boutiques and restaurants just west of downtown. I enjoyed sampling the many restaurants. The Palladium Theatre is nearby. This was the old Pennsylvania Hotel until Marriott took it over and expanded it into a newer building. The higher numbered rooms are in the new building. One problem I’ve had with other hotels in St. Pete, especially the boutique hotels, are the small rooms and teeny tiny bathrooms. At the Courtyard, I ordered a room with a sofa that is often called a junior suite. My room was really just a standard sized room with an added sofa designed to fit into a corner. Nevertheless it was clean and comfortable but for well over $200 a night I’d like a little more, think bigger. Staff was very friendly and helpful, plus I had the nicest housekeeper, Alicia. You had to pay for valet parking at $15 per every night when nearby public parking was only $5 per night. They also have a sandwich shop which serves liquor and a small pool and whirlpool plus some exercise equipment. I’d use it again on another visit.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
