We arrived right after new year (night of Jan 2 to Jan 3, around 1am) and the front desk was amazing. We were snowed out and our plane connection came in late so we were hungry and thirsty. Especially one thing stood out which is that we asked if we could drink the water in the hotel (we're not fussy, but it's safe to ask) and were told it was OK. Then 10 minutes later the gentleman from the front desk comes up to our room (it was a high floor) and gives us a bottle. Small gesture, but very nice after a long day of travel! Also, I personally don't expect anyone to be friendly who has to work the night shift :)

I stayed in a single room which although small was well finished and more than adequate for my stay. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel or using it again as it was fantastic value for money.

We love the views and the wood-paneled rooms with actually decent art on the walls. The breakfast on the top floor with 360 degree views of the city is sumptuous, though pricey. Tired hungry jet-lagged people can get room service at 4 am. It's a great place, one of my favorite hotels ever.

The verdant hill of Montjuic has long been a place of recreation and achieved worldwide fame during the 1992 Olympics. Experience its breathtaking views by taking the cable car from the port and then a smaller cable car to the castle at the very top. The area is chock-a-block with historic and cultural treasures; don’t miss the Museu National de Arte de Catalunya (MNAC) or the Fundació Miró.
