Close to Grenzallee underground station and with a bus stop right outside from Schoenefeld airport it is conveniently placed and we got to explore berlin quite comfortably.
It is in the middle of the Turkish area of Berlin which means one can walk to great kebab shops (real kebab, not the dog food we get in the UK)
The hotel is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in a lot of hotels. The staff are friendly, can be aloof but unless you are a princess on her 16th birthday, you will fine the service amazing.
The shower, the best shower ever, no bathtub but the shower is soooo good.
Wifi is a bit patchy but good at reception, typical in all hotels. And it is free, unlike most hotels in Germany.
If you take the taxi to Shoenefeld it costs about 20 Reichsmark because the bus is not recommended with suitcases, it is just a normal bus.
My cheap room was huge and had an en-suite kitchen.
We stayed for 6 nights and would definitely go back, we loved it.

A nice friendly smaller than average Ibis. Interesting location a very short distance (200yards) from U-Bahn (U7) in travel zone B. Making it much closer in time to city centre than you might think.
Staff were very pleasant at both reception and breakfast. Breakfast Buffet was varied and fresh with a good selection. Typical Ibis 'pod' style bathroom thats functional, clean with loads of hot water and clean towels. PC with internet access available in small seating area near reception (only found part way through our break) was handy. Bedroom is simple but has all you need (including hair dryer & TV) and was spotless.

A very clean hostel. I stayed in a dorm with 4 bunk beds with a private bathroom. There was even a new table and chairs in the room. Shampoo was provided. Parking was free and is in a very secure fenced in location about 50 meters from the building. The S-bahn is literally right behind the hostel, so transportation to the center is easy.

We stayed from Christmas to New Years. The time from 12/24-12/27 was really great because the hotel was almost empty. No standing in line for breakfast, relaxed staff. There were shows going on but we didn't hear anything in the room which was a nice surprise. However, the hotel filled up around 12/29. The breakfast became kinda hectic, and people who showed up after 9 had to stand in line. Breakfast is good but I had expected more variety for almost 20 euro/person. Parking costs around 18 euro a night! It was snowing and there was also road construction, so we didn't take a chance trying to park in the street. Also, there is no coffee/tea maker in the room but you can purchase coffee/tea.

Once dubbed 'Neu-Cooln', Berlin’s eighth district is an up-and-coming neighborhood to the south of the capital city, popular with young artists and students. Visitors can stroll along the river, and through the bustling Turkish Market, dine out at the trendy Reuter Quarter, and admire the architecture of Stadtbad Neukölln, a public swimming pool covered in beautiful mosaics.
