"A brilliant place for a few nights in Berlin"
This was the most lovely hotel; the staff were friendly and efficient; the room and bed one of the most comfortable I can remember and enjoyed an excellent hotel breakfast. The situation is just perfect, a few minutes walk to Check Point Charlie, some lovely restaurants and beautiful shopping malls. The hotel restaurant seemed over the top for our needs - !50 euro 6 courses? but we made good use of the relaxed and efficient lounge bar and afternoon tea! We ate in two restaurants at the corners of the blocks either side and had the most delicious meals there - very conveniently situated as it was very wet while we were there. Conveniently situated for the sightseeing buses; we did both tours as the city one takes you to see the remainders of the Berlin wall and a taste of communist buildings, past the Reichstag and The Brandenburg gate. The second takes you out to Charlottesville and the lovely palace there.

"Lovely "
Very close to Brandenberg gate and S-Bahn links. Very nice hotel with a nice pool. Staff are excellent. But very expensive! €12.50 for a large black coffee! Plus no kettle or hot drinks making facilities in the room (go to Starbucks over the road)

"Luxury hotel central to many sites in Berlin"
This beautiful hotel is remarkable for its classy style, its location and its accommodating staff. I cannot say enough about the help that we received from the front desk and the concierge. Our bags were lost by the airline, and the clerks at the reception desk were all sympathetic and helpful to our plight; they went out of their way to help us retrieve our bags. Our room was great, the breakfast was hearty, and the lobby was open and gracious.

New, modern, next to the main train station, but no train noise. Full breakfast buffet, kind of pricy, but worth it.

"Gorgeous hotel let down by staff"
Beautiful room, comfortable bed, amazing spa. I enjoyed every aspect of my stay except the staff. Despite having the DND light on, someone actually ENTERED MY ROOM WHILE I WAS ASLEEP INSIDE to drop off my mail. I would have been ok had they just slipped it inside the door, but they had actually walked in! I also had a different piece of mail that could not be found and although the guest manager promised repeatedly to get it resolved, nothing was done until I went down to the front desk to get things resolved. No mention of VIP+ perks until I called to ask (10% off restaurant/spa services). I would go back because the facilities were so nice and the location is perfect for getting around town, but it is a shame that the staff is not up to par.

Berlin is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Berlin, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Berlin hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.

Due to Berlin’s scale and the size of the city center it is difficult to cover the main sights on foot. The Berlin Welcome Card offers a great way to get around the city and see many of the highlights; it includes unlimited travel on the underground, metro, and tram systems and 50% discounts on most museums. Another good way to experience central attractions like the Reichstag (the restored parliament) and its Norman Foster glass dome is to board a sightseeing boat on the river Spree.

    Arts and Culture

Those seeking a cultural experience should head for the Berlin Museumsinsel in Mitte. The six museums on a small island focus on classical antiquities, prehistory and early history, Islamic art, and sculpture, and house Egyptian and Numismatic collections. The museum complex itself was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.

For a more modern take visit the Temporäre Kunsthalle Berlin at the Schlossplatz nearby which will showcase modern art created in Berlin until the end of 2010.

A new generation of young Germans eager to experience life in this city of constant change has migrated to the capital in recent years from all over the country, filling the bars and cafes in Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg, and Mitte. Bars and clubs in the central district are mostly open into the early hours of the morning. Expect the unexpected - wine bars that only charge what you want to pay (Weinerei at Zionskirche Square) or a drinking joint in a circus tent (Bar Jeder Vernunft, Schaper Street).

Berlin has no equivalent to the West End or Broadway, but a number of British shows have established themselves here over the years – including Blue Man Group.

    Potsdam and Park Sanssouci

If you have more than a couple of days in the city, it’s worth venturing to nearby Potsdam and Park Sanssouci (which freely translates as ‘carefree’). The vast royal gardens are often compared to Versailles and resemble a showroom for medium-sized palaces. Schedule at least two hours to explore and choose your favorite from residences such as Friedrich the Great’s Palace Sansousi, which gave the park its name, and later additions such as the Neues Palais.
