Our stay at the Arcadia was quiet, pleasant and affordable. We read many reviews of the property that tended to discourage, but the price was right so we booked it. We were glad that we did! The Arcadia is far enough out from AlexanderPlatz to not have the elbow to elbow foot traffic while being mere minutes away by u-bahn. Close by is BoxhagenerPlatz, well worth a leisurely stroll on Saturdays for the fresh produce and food market...then again on Sunday for the flea market.
Arcadia has uninspiring pillows, but there is a shop less than three blocks east on Frankfurter Allee that was selling mattresses and pillows....the pillows were roughly a quarter the size of our twin mattresses pushed together to form the king we booked( haha)...For eight euros a piece. So,no insurmountable pillow issues for us!
Ana, at the reception counter made us feel very welcomed not only to the hotel but to Berlin. In truth there was only one Arcadia employee who did not make us feel welcomed and that may have been the result of a "bad day" for her personally. All in all, we plan to book there again in the near future. Our first stay was for two weeks, plenty of time to get to know the property. Because of its location, we thank the Arcadia for giving us the opportunity to discover the east end of Friedrichshain, BoxhagenerPlatz , Humana at Frankfurter Tor ( next u-Hahn station west of SamariterStrasse station) and "Musti Doner" across the alley from Arcadias entrance. Rockin good times!

Elegant and beautiful hotel which is perfectly maintained. The staff very professional and polite. I got a large room, a bit far from the elevators (ca 100 paces) but I got used to these paces after one day! Everything in the room was in perfect condition, large double bed. Unfortunately there were no facilities to make coffee or tea in the room. You simply have to try the hotel bar, one of the best! Do not shun the hotel restaurants which are very good. A public parking house across the street, served by the doormen. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, provided I would get the same good price I got.
