The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was incredible with traditional Norwegian food. The location was great - you can walk, or easily hop on a bus or tram to get everywhere! Highly recommend this hotel - we will stay here again!!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Had a nice corner room with 2 large windows. Can't see the Opera house anymore because of new buildings being constructed. Easy walk to the train station as well as to the buses, tram and T-bane. Would DEFINITELY stay there again.

The staff were the best part of the hotel and made the trip. Very friendly, helpful and bent over backwards to help, lots of energy and attentiveness. Excellent cappuccino in the bar and great staff there too. Most of all I loved the location near the museums and shops.

We booked a superior room but the first room we were given was small and in need of refurbishment. Shower in bath so a step over, just like in a low budget hotel. Also no safe so make sure you state that you want one. We were moved to a larger room (with a safe) Nicely decorated with walk in shower but the window looked onto the central service well. Light enough but no view and some noise from external plant. We could have carried on moving but lack of view didn't worry us, only there for 3 days. I suspect that even when you select superior accommodation, booking through facilities companies like expedier, hotels try to give you their poorer rooms.
Hotel staff very friendly but possibly not sufficiently trained or overseen. Room made up & cleaned well but first day tea & coffee not replenished.

Formerly a working class district, Grunerlokka is today Oslo's most diverse and bohemian quarter. Thorvald Meyers Gate and Markveien are lined with idiosyncratic stores and cosy bars. Locals come here searching for offbeat bargains and to stroll the Sofienbergparken.
