"Chic updated hotel. "
The hotel is very chic with rich colors, it gives the cold winter day in Oslo a warm welcoming home. Very convenient location from the Oslo S Station. The only problem is that my Superior room though nice and roomy but no storage or timy closet space. Breakfast is fantastic, lots of fresh and homemade choices. Nespresso coffee machine in the lobby so you can have coffee whenever- that is big plus for those of us traveling through many different time zone. I would stay here again when I come back!

"Nice hotel close to the City Hall"
We were upgraded to a Business Room which was really spacious. The breakfast buffet (included) was good. The hotel is located walking distance to most of the best Oslo attractions and the Central Station (8 minutes’ walk). The room does not have A/C but since the weather was cold it was not a problem.

"Awesome location"
This hotel is superbly located just 3 minutes walk to the central station, and 5 minutes walk to the Opera House. The concierge staff gave excellent assistance with train timetables for the following day. Instead of a stressful morning hoping that my train connection to Oslo from Sweden was not delayed prior to my afternoon flight, I stayed the night at Thon Hotel Astoria and went to a performance at the Oslo opera and ballet (80kr tickets!!). Even if you're not an opera or ballet fun go and see this beautiful building - sunset fromt he rooftop over the fjord was awesome! Being less pressured for time I was able to take the local train to the airport at 93kr instead of the fast airport train at 180kr, and I started the journey back to Australia with a warm shower and awesome hotel breakfast (free with room booking). Good decision and I will happily do this again next time to Scandinavia.

Grand Hotel Oslo

"best hotel in the best place!"
We always stay at the Grand in Oslo. We love the convenience, the swimming pool, the grand buffet breakfast, and the historical aura of the place. There is easy travel between there and the airport by taking the Flytogen train from the airport right to National Theater stop a couple of blocks from the hotel. The bargain-priced former "ladies rooms" now have the ventilation problems fixed but are still small, yet big enough for a King bed. the room features and bath are minimal but sufficient. Breakfast is no longer included in the price but must be added to basic room price if you wish. Since it is our tradition and the free-flowing, ample breakfast under the eyes of Mr. Ibsen himself in a big mural keeps you going until dinner, we opted for it. We would prefer to have breakfast to the music of Grieg instead of modern screaming rock music and to have the former more classic decor instead of modern functional (uncomfortable) furnishings, but the experience is still a good one. A few years back they stopped letting regular guests use the showers in the spa at the pool, so one must return wet to one's room unless you have signed up for the spa, which is full service. There is a shower in the work out room (great facility) which one perhaps could use. Robes and slippers in the room carry you through the halls. We are not in love with the "modernization" of the lobby and rooms. To us, they forfeited some of the former historic graciousness we loved about the Grand.

Oslo is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Oslo, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Oslo hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
